I was reading another thread and it appeared to me that it might be the lady of the pair that seems to be generally more obsessed. My wife enjoys Disneyland but I'm the obsessed one (just ask any of our friends) lol. So, in your relationship, who is the more obsessed?

You know , it's a tie for us. Until my hubby and I met we never dated anyone who enjoyed let alone loved Disney, and we both are obsessed in our own ways. It's an amazing feeling sharing such passion and love for something so dear to me.

It's definitely me. Its funny it all started with me wanting to take my mother & mother in law at Christmas time for just two days and my mother in law insisted on another day which I didn't really want to do one more day as the last 5 day trip burned me out and then I fell so much in love with Disney and now just can't get enough. My DH can't wait for me to be tired of it but it just never happens...lol

By far it's me, the wife. I'll tell DH something new I find out (like last night I read you can add a piece of chicken for $3 at Plaza Inn), I usually just get a "that's cool". However when we are in the parks he really appreciates all my research and knowledge especially when I point out its something I read about on these boards.

Btw you can even ask for all white meat I think it's $1 And all mash potatoes for no fee. :flower1:

It's me by FAR! My husband tolerates my obsession, usually, but is very happy to have our daughter and I go without him.

Definitely me (the wife) I am totally obsessed!!! I am always on disboards or researching. Trying to make sure I have the most up to date info and any extra hints and tips :)

I also go without DH. Me & DD spend a lot of mother daughter trips as he doesn't really want to go anymore. I know when star wars land comes he will want to come as he's a big star wars fan.

Emily's a Disney nerd but when it comes to the parks I'm the queen! Or I guess the princess!

I am the guide really. I know all the little tricks and such despite only being there 7 times. (well 7 day trip). I've done my homework!

Me, the wife, for sure. DD is equally as bonkers over all things Disney. DH is super supportive of our passion, but I don't think it would ever be his idea to go the parks. Once he's there, he always has a great time, though.

Yeah, that was my thread, and it's obviously me, the wife. I think it's just that I have a hyperfocus streak; given a situation that can be planned out well, I will plan it to death. When I first started researching for our first trip in 2008, I discovered these boards and found out so many good tips, that even with a sick kid, we managed to show the other two kids a pretty good time. Then when DD13 and I did our mom/daughter do-over trip 6 months later, I remember her saying, "Mom, you're like my own personal Disneyland map. Who needs a guidebook?" as she pityingly watched people huddled over a map and talking into their phones, saying, "I'm here, but I don't know where I am. What are we going to do next?"

I really enjoy the planning part of it. Then I enjoy knowing enough to be able to show my family a wonderful time without a lot of hassle and without waiting in endless standby lines. The joy and wonder on their faces makes it a joy for me. :)

Definitely me (the wife). My dh 'tolerates it' haha he mumbles and grumbles 'oh god, not another Disney trip' but once he's there he loves it! Though he'd never admit it.....:rolleyes1

I'm probably a little more obsessed than my wife. I faux book Disney vacations all of the time (she does too, but not as much as me). I tell my wife about it when I've found good prices. That's usually all it takes to green light a trip! I absolutely love the planning. I spend many of my evening hours lurking these boards and soaking up the info. I usually start faux booking the next trip a couple of months after we get back.

Our next trip is in July 26th-30th and I can't wait! Our kids (DD16, DS14, DD6) don't know anything about the trip. We are going to tell them the day before we leave that we are taking a vacation, but not tell them where we are going until we get to the airport!

Definitely me. My wife tolerates my Disneyland obsession quite well, and we've come to a compromise where we usually take one family trip a year and then one daddy/daughter trip later in the year. She certainly loves having my obsessive planning and insider knowledge when we do go together as a family, though!

Definitely me (the husband). My wife LOVES Disney, she has Disney tattoos and loves going every year, but I am the more obsessed planner, researcher, etc. She is fine with trusting me to obsess over every dining reservation or detail to each plan, and just lets me guide us. She helps her friends plan WDW trips now but relies on my up to dare knowledge.

We're headed to DL for the first time next month and I'm the one who is on here every day reading more and more, visiting all the planning sites, buying and reading the books. Our love for Disney is equal, but I'm the more obsessed one.

I'm guessing that anyone writing on these boards is the obsessed spouse in the marriage. It's the husband in this one. It started with a honeymoon trip to WDW. That led to 6 more 7-10 day trip without kids and then with kids. I'll say that I'm not obsessed with DL as much as I was with WDW, but it's still enough to be diagnosed clinically.

Me! Any time we bring up Disneyland or talking about previous trips, I'll get curious and start looking up prices, figuring out what the total cost would be. That's what led to my last solo trip, and to this upcoming DH and me trip. DH and I were talking about the first time we visited, and were reminiscing about the good stuff, and the stuff he missed... I went and looked up prices, and told him about the jammin' deals I could get over my birthday week for airfare and hotel, and he just grinned and said, "Pull the trigger. Let's go."
