Who's in for GREECE and TURKEY, June 15 2003????

This is one of the reasons I chose an inside cabin for the Baltic ... Thought it would help with the sleep!

At one point in the Baltic, it appeared that sunset was followed by sunrise without any night.

Regardless of where we are sailing, we take a couple of clothes pins to hold the drapes shut.

There were no fireworks in the Baltic because of regulations That prohibited the fireworks because of the debris that would fall from shooting tomorrow. There are no fireworks in Alaska because of the noise regulations. And yes it was light very late in the Baltic Which was not too bad because it let us explore St. Petersburg in the light rather than The dark. I personally like it being light later because it lets us feel like we can cram more into a day.

Speaking of inside cabins...Did you have the Standard or Deluxe? I'm looking for anyone's opinion on the Standard. We booked one for the Med and it was months before I realized there was no split bathroom. :scared1: The DCL split bathroom is genius and a Godsend for 2 women and a teen girl in one room. princess:+princess:+princess: I'm considering upgrading since it looks like there's still a few deluxes left, but I don't know that it's worth the money. My sanity yes, but the extra $600 is money that could cover at least 2 excursions for my party.

I saw on other threads how a lot of experienced DCL cruisers do the onboard bookings. So I was wondering if I can try upgrading my stateroom for the Med when I go on my NYE Cruise to help lower the upgrade cost. :scratchin Has anyone done an onboard upgrade for a cruise already booked? Is that even possible?

Split bathroom or no I will have a good time. It's just a matter of whether or not we have to schedule shower and mirror privileges like we've done in the past on our land vacations to keep the magical experience alive. :rolleyes2 We're not ashamed to be high maintenance. We embrace it and plan accordingly to make it work for all.

We have transferred bookings over before. Reserved when date was released and then checked if rebooking onboard would offer cheaper rate. It did and they used our same reservation number, chosen room and same deposit.

Awesome to know! Thanks! :)

Wow! Cool that they had the party at least. I think having daylight that late would throw me off. I still get thrown off by AZ in the summertime when it's still light until about 8:30p sometimes (no DST.)

We moved here from DC and I want to say it was light longer at night there than here. Further north and with DST, it was "later". But I love not having DST here. Definitely helps keep bedtime on a schedule year round.

I love the no DST too. Makes life so much easier. Unfortunately with me having so much to travel so much to NY and LA for my job I still have to deal with it. I'm one who has to have 3 clocks on my laptop and smartphone. Can't wait to be on DCL time though. :cloud9:

Not that I have posted lately at all, but we have had to cancel our cruise with all of you. We have moved over to the 7 day on 6/8. Greece and Turkey will have to wait. Also, the fact that we want to spend more time in Rome and some time in London and work schedules are keeping us to certain dates, we jumped. Now to try and figure out how to put all of that together!
Thank you for all of your wonderful information from your prior cruises, it helped us a lot!!!

Sorry to hear you aren't going with us but glad to hear that you do still have something magical planned.

We booked our Barcelona hotel.... we're now at the Hotel Barcelona Universal. It had good reviews and the price was ok and included breakfast and free wifi. Looks to be close to lots of things. Got it through Expedia. It's only the 3rd time I've used Expedia so I hope there will be no problems.

Laura should be landing in Bucharest, Romania within the hour.

A few more air miles and a few more hotel stays we can use for the Med.

Will miss not meeting you since we discuss Giants baseball on this thread. Maybe another time. Hopefully they are the WS champions tonight. Sue

We haven't set anything up yet for Fish Extender besides people indicating that they want to participate over on the ROLLCALL FORM. The form creates a spreadsheet, so here is a link to the spreadsheet, so you should be able to update your information there.

Yep, they won! Did you get to a game this season? We kept saying we were but never got up there. :sad2:

YEA! And then I will find your cabin to stay behind and then I can still go to Greece and Turkey! :cool1::rotfl2::flower3:
BTW, I removed myself from the spreadsheet, too. :sad1:
Enjoy!!!

I was there for opening week. Work conflicts prevented me from going out for WS so sold my ticket. Will be there for opening week that starts 4/5/13. Two months before this cruise.

who has seen these? Wow!

What do you think of the comments on this one? Should Disney have made a different call? Or is the weather the weather?

:surfweb: The Med can be quite rough, sure, and we are unlikely to encounter anything on the level of Sandy. In addition, we all know that this kind of experience is VERY rare, to have a ship list so dramatically. What does everyone think about a cruise line's responsibilities vis a vis boarding (allowing rescheduling), route (what is realistic with regards to avoiding a hurricane), and delay (should they run into the itinerary of the next cruise in order to minimize the potential discomfort/safety of the current passengers)?
