Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

WOW ladies!! Where to begin?

Cute tops Shelly! I like the light green tee!

Is there such a thing as a comfortable heel?? If so, where are they? How high are you talking? Anything above 2" is dangerous to me!

Walmart - The Evil Empire. I hate it. Never go there unless I can't find something specific after looking at 100 other places. The place just attracts the crazies! Never had a good experience at a WM before. I'm from MN and we are loyal to Target, our hometown company. Plus now I live within 1/2 a mile from one. They pretty much know me by name there. If they don't have it, I don't need it.
When we're visiting MIL in Va, they only have WM in town and it's torture!

Okay - Jo - I am seeing a bit more color in your latest selections!! Like that brighter blue - very cute!!!

I pack with my kids. We have to try stuff on, since it's usually the opposite season (shorts in winter) and make sure they fit. Then I limit things and make sure they have undies too.
DH is on his own, although I do make him double check for undies - Shelly knows what I'm talking about! It's happened to us too, but not at WDW, so we could go to a (gasp) Walmart and buy some cheaper ones!
I pack all the necessities - toiletries. stuff on the packing list, etc. Again, DH is on his own. He's in charge of electronics. cameras, chargers...

Thank you!! :)

I do have some comfortable heels. Well they are flip flops with heels. I will get to that post soon! :yay:

I am too much of a control freak to let everyone pack on their own. I know I'd just have to do it all over again, so I might as well just do it the first time! :upsidedow

Not for you...I meant for me! :upsidedow

Wow, Shelly, you're going to have to make your trip longer so you have time to wear all those clothes!

 I know!! I was just saying -- flats!! :scared1:

Hey that's a good idea, I should extend the trip the trip so I can wear all those clothes! :thumbsup2

Jo - love the 3rd dress down(the light blue one)

Shellie - you surely did shop a lot :rotfl: I lost track of how many new tops you bought , I love the lacy crop jacket. I have been looking for a crop jacket for the one sundress I did buy, just in case I want to take it on my trip.

Oh speaking of trips, yesterday DH and I got into a discussion about our trip and we decided today to switch our reservation to WL.

DH is quite the happy camper now, he loves WL, I like it too we have stayed there twice as a family, reason I was shying away from it, but he pointed out to me that there are memories from YC area too and no matter where we go in Disney there will be memories. In the process now of changeing a few ADRs mainly the breakfasts we were doing at YC and BC but you know how it is once you start playing with ADRs it is hard to stop :rotfl:

I know, I got carried away!! :upsidedow It's that dang Penney's and Kohl's, they keep sending me coupons! :rotfl:

Yeah, I wanted the cropped sweaters for over the dresses in the A/C at dinners, etc.

You switched your ressie AGAIN??? You are so funny!!

I'm glad you guys are happy with your new choice. I hope you are able to enjoy it and can look back at some fond memories while you are there.

I need to switch a few ADR's around too. But I'm not having any luck. I am hoping IPO can help me out. :wizard:

Oh my! What beautiful dresses Shelly and Jo. I am so self conscious wearing dresses for some unknown reason. Maybe it's my legs? Too white or something. ;) But cute, cute stuff you both picked up! :thumbsup2

Shelly--- wow what an awesome display of stuff you have there!:lmao: I can't believe you got so much. Okay you win. You out shopped me-- I didn't know if it was possible.:lmao:

Love the tanks. And the shirts.... And the shorts...... :faint: All perfectly Awesome!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

Cute, cute, cute, Jo!
I see you're branching out into blue! ;)

Blue-- it's close to black isn't it??:goodvibes Thanks!!
I know, I was getting worried there for a minute!! :rotfl:

I am going to fill it out today!! :thumbsup2

Love all the new dresses!! :goodvibes Can't wait to see what else you get!

Well I didn't buy anything today but I tried on a ton!
Did you fill out your stuff for IPO?

Thanks Sheree!! I am trying to branch out with more colors. It's hard to let go of my black but I am learning.:thumbsup2 Shelly and the underwear saga...:rotfl2: That was so funny.
I like me a Target now, don't get me wrong. And usually I can handle WM-- yesterday was just an uphill battle for me.:confused3

Sheila--- I like that dress too! I am afraid that the ruffles on the top are gonna drive me batty but it is so cute with a pair of wedges so I couldn't say no. I will probably wear it at night to dinner somewhere...
'and oh my gosh you changed resorts.... again! Personally, I think you should book CL there. If you need any links to pics or threads on the CL I have them all.....
:rotfl2:
I hope you guys have a good trip, though, seriously and there will be new memories for you to make.

Oh my! What beautiful dresses Shelly and Jo. I am so self conscious wearing dresses for some unknown reason. Maybe it's my legs? Too white or something. ;) But cute, cute stuff you both picked up! :thumbsup2
Thanks!:goodvibes
I am white too-- but I use a liberal amount of fake tan so as not to appear ghostly.....:thumbsup2

Jo - you know you are a bad influence cause I did talk with DH about doing CL and switching to the reg DDP instead of the DxDP but it was a no go, he wants his TS meals  And I think CL with the DxDP would be a big waste, especially since neither DH or I do not drink because of the meds we take.

I think I have talked DH to death between yesterday and today, I was reading him a menu since I have to switch a few ADRs and he said we will talk tomorrow :lmao:

Men! :rotfl:

I was thinking the same thing. I can't find anything comfortable enough for all that walking other than sneakers. Which wouldn't look too stylish with cute sundresses. I know Shelly can wear all those cute heeled sandals, but not me...anyone have favorite cute, flat, shoes?

I had completely forgot about the shoes. I too haven't found shoes comfortable enough for all the walking we do at Disney other than sneakers. I do NOT wear heels so that is for sure out. I have a few cute sandals and flip flops, but no way can I walk in them for a full day. Hopefully I can find a pair of comfortable walking flip flops for this summer.

Well you said it yourself--they are THRILL rides- so give those poor saps waiting in line behind you something to talk about while they are miserable... wear the dresses! You will be forever changed. :lmao: And so will they!!:rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I love the wardrobes! It never occurred to me to wear dresses at Disney. I always pack one, just in case, but I have never worn one to the parks. I'll have to consider it on my next trip, but we shall see.

I'm an over packer as well, but I had to get it out of my system when they started charging per bag. However, since the baby was born I've started checking one bag everywhere I go, because it simply isn't practical to be lugging around extra carryons, and a baby.

I really should have taken a picture of my luggage coming here. My Daddy upgraded us to First Class (one of the perks of him traveling all over for work), so I got SIX "free" checked bags. (three for me and three for the baby! - though it was more like four for me and two for the baby) I also brought two carryons, so EIGHT bags total for two of us. Granted, we were moving, but I have no idea what I would have done if we had only been allotted the two "free" bags each for economy.

The airport in Kansas City was certainly comical, because it was just me and my Mom trying to move eight bags in from the curb. On this end, I hired someone to help me, which made going through customs a lot less dramatic.

Well, I am finally caught up. Work has been crazy, so it took me a while.
I cant believe all the new clothes, you may have to add a few more days.
Jo, I had to laugh outloud (my son actually asked what I was laughing at) with your
stick it in the closet and pull it out a month later comment, I have so done that!
The CL thing sounds really cool, have never looked into that. I'll be interested to hear about it in you TRs.
So 2 nights ago my DS12 was pushed into the neighbors pool fully dresses and with his phone in his pocket. Needless to say we spent about 3 hrs at verizon yesterday!
I promise to check in atleast every other day and keep up! It is a lot of fun to hear about both your plans.

Are you girls planning on changing clothes 3 times a day?????? ;)

I was gone for just one day, and there is so much to catch up on!

Jo, don't worry about being outshopped. I think Shelly is in a league of her own! Both of y'all will be stylin' at Disney, that is for sure!

Jo - your dresses are so cute! I bet you look really good in black. I think black looks especially good on blondes.

Shelly - did you leave anything in the store? I love all the tops you bought - no way I could pick a favorite! Cute shorts, too. :goodvibes

It's going to be fun seeing y'all in all your new outfits when you do your TR's!

Well now I'm not sure about the WM experience yesterday. It just was more than I could bear, all things combined. Usually I am good- but man yesterday all the crazies were out in full force.

And hush yo mouth you know it's cornbread. It's dressing isn't it???:rotfl2:

The secret lies in the cornbread. You have to have a good cornbread and I've yet to find one here where I live. Can you get Old South cornbread where you are? It used to be made by ballard-- I think someone bought them out. It's what makes it good. I bet your dressing is wonderful and you don't realize it.
My mama's is the best but last year my kids said mine was just as good. 'bought dang time.:lmao:

Have you ever seen those "People of Wal-Mart" emails that get forwarded all over? Talk about the crazies!

I don't know about Old South cornbread. I'll have to look for it. I do know Ballard brand cornbread, but I usually use Pioneer. How sweet of your kids to pay you the ultimate compliment! Who doesn't want their cooking to be as good as their Mama's?

Thanks Teri! :goodvibes

Well to be honest with you I am still reading up on CL. I've found lots of good info. http://allears.net/acc/faq_polyc0.htm and http://www.tikiman2001.net/tiki/quick-longhouses/quick-hawaii

I guess the main benefits are the snacks in the lounge all day: breakfast items in the morning, snacks in the afternoon, appetizer type items in the evening, and desserts in the late evening. Plus pop, lemonade, iced tea, beer, etc. And you have access to the CL lounge all day. Just to relax during the day or watch Wishes at night - the music is piped in there. I think you might get robes. And turn-down service. Oh and you get to make a grand royal entrance on a golf cart to the Hawaii building!

The CL building at the Poly is Hawaii. http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/polymap.htm

The bottom floor has patios, the top floor has balconies, and the middle floor has a door that opens to a railing type thing. Most of the buildings at the Poly are like this. That is one of the reasons we chose the BWI over it last year. Because we were told that all of the rooms at the BWI had balconies.

So I'm hoping for a top floor, but it we don't get it I am hoping that CL will be enough to make up for it!! :)

Thanks for the links, Shelly! :thumbsup2 I did read up on them, and CL sounds awesome! Since you won't be on the DP during your Poly stay, it sounds like you could almost make do with the CL food! The evening service menu, especially, sounds yummy. Maybe your DS9 will surprise you and really get your money's worth out of it.

I bet you and your DH are super excited to be staying Poly CL. To me, the Poly is Disney, pure and simple. The wheels in my mind are turning, and I'm thinking "how can I get my DH to want to go back, just the 2 of us, and stay at the Poly?" ;) I never did go to Disney with my parents (I was almost an adult when WDW was built). But my parents went a few times by themselves, at least with other couples as part of golf trips. I know they really had a good time, and they surely didn't ride the thrill rides! So maybe there's hope......

We came with the military. My husband got it as his first duty station! We're up about 40 miles north of Seoul. I have only been here a few weeks, but so far I like it. Obviously, it's a different country, so there are certain things that require some adjustment, like the Walmart thing. They do have other retail chains, but I haven't been to any yet, because I mostly shop on post. We do live out "on the economy" in Korean run apartments, because there's no post housing here. We've been meaning to get out to a Korean retail store, but it is a bit more complicated with a baby. (juggling the car seat for taxis and/or taking public transportation) It's so easy to get around using the public transportation. The roads are a bit scary. Let's just say stop lights are suggestions!

Overall, if I were an unencumbered single, I would have come here by my own choice, especially with the job market being the way it is. Chances are he could get paid a good bit of money, while having most of his expenses covered.

That said, it is a country at war, so make all the necessary maternal adjustments. I went back and forth a million times before coming here. [again...if it was just me, it wouldn't have been as much of an issue (being a selfish child in blissful ignorance and all), but I have a baby to think about now] Chances are none of my nightmares will come true and we'll all come home in a year and a half perfectly safe.

Basically, it's what you make of it. I relish the opportunity to see new places, but I know others here who hate it. Give me a few months though. I loved studying abroad at first, but within a few months I was planning a trip to Disney, (enter DISboards) because traveling there is so much easier!

Look at it this way...if he comes to Korea, you can meet him in Japan and all go to Tokyo Disney together!

**HIJACK OVER**

Thanks, Becca! :goodvibes First of all, thanks to your DH for serving our country! :thumbsup2 It must be an incredible experience moving to another continent as a young couple with a small baby. I admire you for having the attitude you do. You're so right - most experiences are what you make of them.

The unrest in the country did cause me more concern than I would normally have had when my DS started talking about teaching in South Korea. I'm not sure if he will pursue it, but I think he would love it. He wants to see and do so much more than I ever did at his age.

I don't know about going to visit him or meeting up with him in Japan, though. It's all I can do to get myself on a plane to fly to Florida!

Winter-Spring2011039.jpg

I have this sweater too, but in black and gray!!! I bought them on a special sale day when they were only $8. I just love all of these shopping posts. You know from reading my PTR's that shopping for Disney trips is one of my favorite things. I just love trying to match up what Madison and I are going to wear with what park we'll be at or where we're eating that day. I still shop like that even when I don't have a trip planned. I'll see something and say "That would be a great outfit for...." :goodvibes

It's really not as bad here as the news makes it seem. They have isolated incidents, but so do we in the US. I remember a few months ago something happened (I was still in the states). I talked to DH that night all worried, and he was like "oh that? it was no big deal." Apparently the North Koreans are most active in the winter, because they want more aid, but once the warmer months hit they're practically nonexistent.

Good Morning everyone!

Is everyone still sleeping????? Snore, Snore, Snore.

Men! :rotfl:

Bless his heart.:rotfl2: I know I've crossed the line when Mark gets this look-- followed closely by this  and once he gets to this :faint: I know the convo is over.

The DxDp probably will be good for you guys instead of CL. I don't know, if it were just me and Mark going this trip, if we would do the CL. We don't drink at all either so we won't be partaking of the offerings as far as that goes. I think having the snacks and drinks for the kiddos as well as the extra room in the lounge to send them to will be what helps me keep my sanity. SO yeah- if I had to choose one for you guys I'd say def keep the DxDp. ::yes::

I had completely forgot about the shoes. I too haven't found shoes comfortable enough for all the walking we do at Disney other than sneakers. I do NOT wear heels so that is for sure out. I have a few cute sandals and flip flops, but no way can I walk in them for a full day. Hopefully I can find a pair of comfortable walking flip flops for this summer.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Have you ever bought Yellow Box flip flops?? Now I can't say that they are the BEST ever flop- they just worked for me last time we went. And I have flat feet with no arch at all. I used to wear the dreaded crocs to the parks-- fashion be danged I have flat feet and they were comfy there! But I think the yellow box flops are what I'm taking. I'll show pics when we get to shoes...

PS-- I somehow missed that you are a Newlywed. Congratulations!!!:wizard:

I love the wardrobes! It never occurred to me to wear dresses at Disney. I always pack one, just in case, but I have never worn one to the parks. I'll have to consider it on my next trip, but we shall see.

I just wanted to say "Thank you" to both you and your DH for the sacrifices you are making for all of us in this World. We all appreciate what you are doing.

You and your poor mom at KC airport. :lmao: And bless your Dad for helping out with the free bag check and upgrade!:lovestruc

Girl that's the only way to shop! I keep thinking that DH is gonna catch on b/c anytime he says "Wow, is that new?" I always say "Um, well, no I've had it for awhile-- maybe a month or two? I bought it back in the blah blah blah you know when it was blah blah blah and the kids were blah blah blah and you were blah blah blah..." ANd he gets that glazed over look. I have found that the more you talk to men the better it is. Some women try to not talk at all when they get caught. Not me. I gotta throw it all at him, all at once, just to confuse him.:rotfl2:

Man don't you hate going to the Verizon store? It is such a pain. Last time DH went and suprised me with my Iphone. After I had dropped and destroyed my Itouch. The kids said 'Why is it that if we break something we get punished but when Mom completely destroys her stuff she gets better stuff?'
He said "Because she's mom, that's why."
:rotfl2:

Had to post that I just noticed that my ticker is soon going to start with a 4!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!
:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Are you girls planning on changing clothes 3 times a day?????? ;)

I was gone for just one day, and there is so much to catch up on!

Thanks Teri! You're right -- Shelly is in a league of her own!:thumbsup2

I do plan on changing a few times a day. But I think I'll end up wearing most of the stuff. We have to be prepared you know! You never know when you might be asked to have a fancy dinner with the Queen of England or some such person.....;)

I have seen those people of WM... and it is funny but I tell you true-- I went to the library the other day and that joint was giving WM a run for it's money. The sheer volume of toothless Pajama clad individuals was shocking. Maybe it was 'Get out of owing your library late fees if you are toothless and wear pj's on Tuesday' day.:confused3
Maybe it's just me but I seem lately to be attracting weirdos.
Yesterday the kids and I had the pleasure of seeing a man at a busy intersection with a grey beard, bald, black knee socks, a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, wearing....... a dress???????????

Drew yells "HOLY COW MOM WHAT IS HE DOING????????" We both had thought it was a little old lady but as we got closer we realized it was a man.
Drew was mortified and looked at me and said "Dude, That was WEIRD." I said "I am not a dude, the man in a dress was a dude and be quiet you're yelling." And Belle yells from the back seat "What?? What was it?? I wanna see?? Who are you talking about???"
Drew says "Trust me, it's better that you don't know."

:faint:

Personally I think he was on his way to a Hog game, but what do I know????:rolleyes1
ZING!!!;)

Okay so anywho...
cornbread!!!!!!!! see if you can find ballard and try that. I will have to try the Pioneer one if I can find it.

Also-- I know you were saying something about going to WDW just you and your DH. Mark and I have gone so many times alone. It is WONDERFUL. Last May I couldn't ride much at all b/c of a medical issue going on at the time and we walked around a lot, and STILL it was great. I recommend going. I hope you get to plan a trip soon. I'm sure I know of two people who would love to help you plan. ;)
