Who's going to AKL in Dec?

We'll be there for the 2nd December in a row. We're splitting a stay with the Poly (as a family compromise for me!), but DS's heart (he's 5) belongs to AKL ...

We'll be there December 22nd through the 27th. AKL is absolutely fabulous to be able to enjoy the exotic peace and beauty of Africa - just pieces of its culture, land and animals. Hope everyone has a magical holiday while at AKL.

We will be at CSR 11/23-12/5 and AKL Savannah view from 12/5-12/8...This is our first family trip and first time for me to these resorts. I am so excited

We'll be there Nov 30- Dec 7th...staying concierge! This is our second time there in Dec....3rd trip staying at the lodge. We love it there.

I can't wait to stay at the AKL. We have a Savanah view room booked for Dec 8. Right now I am trying to decide what to put on my room request. It was by chance that we are staying at the AKL. I wasn't able to get the YC for our first night in Disney, so I decided on AKL for one night. I can't wait to see the animals!

I am only going for 3 days, with my stepmom...I upgraded to AKL from POFQ (not the wisest move for my budget, but was wanted a really nice peaceful trip, even at XMas time!) 12/21-12/24. I really really wanted an EPCOT hotel, but they would stretch my budget.

I have heard mentioned that people would NOT stay at AKL if only at WDW for a short trip. Should I switch to a more central resort, and cough up the difference? Or is AKL still ok? I am not a commando tourist... if that helps any. Just want to see Illuminations as many times as possible (probably 2x). It is SOOOO hard picking resorts! I already stayed at WL 2x this year and LOVED it. Really want to try somewhere new.

I just had to say - I am expecting my 3rd boy and they are exactly the same age spread as yours!

To the poster asking whether a more central resort would be better for you ... I would say it seems like it might be so in your case. We always plan more downtime into our AKL stay because it seems conducive to a slower pace. However, it's really not that bad traveling to the parks. However, it sounds like your dominant interest is in Epcot. Nothing beats being able to walk back to your room after Illuminations or to have an excuse to eat every night in the Epcot area! Have you priced the Swan and Dolphin? We got a great rate there when there was nothing, not even AP rates, good at the Epcot resorts last February. We liked it and the location was perfect. I am not trying to talk you out of AKL which is WONDERFUL but maybe it would be better for another trip?

We will be there from December 14-17 - at AKL Conceirge Level.

It's just a small surprise trip for DS9.5 - It's been since April, since we have gone and won't be back till April 06!

Our family will be there Dec 18 - Dec 22. I have only been to AKL to look at it and it is soooooo beautiful. Thanks to discounts I can actually afford to stay there this time and I am so excited. We have actually left one day free to enjoy the resort.

My DH and I have eaten at Bomas before and we loved the experience. We are looking forward to sharing it with our DS (16) and DD (10).

We'll be there transfering from POP on December 4th (no availability for Dec 3rd) so we will be at POP Dec 2-4 and AKL from 4-10th.
We made the mistake of staying at AKL last January after staying at all the mods, Swan and WL and Poly. We love AKL and can't wait to see it at Christmas!

We're meeting my dad there, and will spend the weekend together.

On the 8th, we head to Ft. Wilderness Cabins to spend a few days with Mom, too!
