Who's Going Jersey Week?

I am so jealous- our districts (both DH and myself are teachers) don't give us off the whole week. I get tues, thurs., fri. off and I think he does too. Just give us the whole week is what I think. Happy vacationing to all of you.

That stinks!!! What district? When I was growing up, my school district (Matawan) only gave us those days off, but my DH's school district (Hazlet) does.

Count us in for the 5th-12th. Our district has off on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Monday and Wednesday are half days so we just take the whole week off. We love going this time of year and enjoy getting together with friends and neighbors who are there at the same time as us.

Our district has school on Monday, then off the rest of the week. I work in an elementary school and usually go that week, but the last few years our boss only grants three people off that Monday. It's on a rotating basis by seniority. That makes it hard to plan a trip for this week because we don't know if we got that day until some time in July. I got it last year, so I know I wouldn't get it again this year, so we're going in December. I'm hoping I will get it next year. I wish our school board would just give us off the entire week.

Oh - in that case we will be there during the first couple of days of Jersey week.

We will be on our honeymoon in Disney World from October 30th - November 8th.

We are from Maine but that week worked (by accident) for us. We booked 11/4 to 11/12 because Veterans Day on that Friday (11/11) means our kids would miss one less day of school. Then, after we had booked our dates, our school District (Scarborough) decided to close the schools on Monday and Tuesday (11/7 & 11/8) for teacher workshops. So while we are out of town six weekdays, our kids will only be missing three days of school!

We were there last year and noticed that alot of families were from New Jersey. I didn't think anything of it until I started reading on the boards about Jersey week. We are going again this year--must not of had a negative effect on us! LOL. I don't remember anyone mis-behaving, from Jersey or anywhere else for that matter. We had a terrific time!
Looking forward to visiting the Mouse--Nov.3-8 at the Pop this time.
