Who's Going in September?

Thats opening a week earlier than last year. I am guessing all of the Halloween decorations will be up throughout the park as well.

I hope so! That would be so neat to be able to see it a week early. :woohoo:

You are a really cool mom to take her out of school for her birthday and to take her all the way to Disneyland! I bet the 2 of you will have a great time by yourselves. I bet the other DDs must be green with envy!

Thanks! Actually, the other 2 girls are more excited about spending multiple nights at Grandma's!! Plus they know they will get a turn for a trip with mom when they are 16.

We've been to DL 3 times, in '94, '05 and '05. We've been to WDW once, in '97.

OOH! i figured out how to put a picture in my avatar too! Ususally, I have to ask DD15 for help with technical stuff!

Wow! Grandma must be really cool too!

Have you (or anyone else on the board) been to DL in September? I am so worried about it being hot! Oh well, we have always been in the fall with cool weather so if it's too hot this time we will enjoy the wet rides more!

Never made it to DW. We love DL so much I cannot image giving it up to go somewhere else.

Congrads on the avatar! They are a bit small too get much detail but I guess maybe we can get some idea. I also put one in my profile that is a bit bigger.

Ya'll have fun and maybe we will see you there!

Like any time in CA, you never really know for sure what you're going to get. Average high temps in Sept. are mid 80's which is warm, but I've also been there where it was in the 60's. You just never know, unfortunately. The one good thing about Sept. is that it rarely ever rains then. :thumbsup2

We went last July during a CA heat wave. We've also gone in August. We never found it too horrible, but then we are used to Texas.

Yup, my family only travels in September. So far, we've found the temperatures pleasant, and maybe with a tendency to get a bit cool. (I'm most comfortable in the mid 70's.) It was a rude shock when we went to Florida last year and it was soooooooo hooooottttt. I thought I'd melt.

We have been planning a 9/9 - 9/13 trip at HOJO ... hopefully we get to go! Darn medical issues

We took the kids for the first time last fall, good memories! :cloud9: The kids are finally going to be just past that 40" height limit for some of the rides. Our 6 year old DD is just ITCHING to go on Space Mountain! Buzz was a huge hit last year for 4 year old DS, so were the bumper cars at Cal. Adventure, and ALL of the shows. :dance3:

So I am crossing every finger and toe that we make it! :thumbsup2

We changed hotels and added a day, so we'll be at Paradise Pier from the 17th to the 21st (in the park first and last day as well as the middle days).

We've gone in Sept and Oct, and the weather is good.

On our September visit, it actually rained until noonish, which was GREAT because everyone else went home and we had the park practically to ourselves!

Helpful hint: bring umbrellas and ponchos, purchased ahead of time, and just keep them in a backpack, just in case. I still have the receipt for our emergency umbrella and poncho from a store near Indiana Jones ride, and it was approximately $30.

But on that day we really should have known it was going to be nasty, b/c it was even overcast and COLD in San Diego that week...my brother blamed us b/c we live near Seattle, ha ha.

Then the sun came out, the people came back, and it was crowded-ISH again.

Our October visit wasn't HOT, but it wasn't breezy and cool, either.

I'll take your word about the rain as you live on the coast near me!

I will never forget my first trip to WDW and the hurricane was coming and they decided to close the park at 2pm. Looked outside and all I saw was a sea of yellow ponchos. My sister and I dug out our rain gear and put it on and went outside and we both were laughing! We could not believe that everyone was wearing a poncho. It was such a fine mist of warm water. I would rather have not worn my poncho-I was sweating in the heat! Maybe it is just us-growing up in the wet coast!

Hi Squirrel. The rain that day at Disneyland was really hard, a pelting rain, and I was glad to have that expensive umbrella b/c I was wearing DS in the mei tai (see avatar picture, we were still slightly damp) and neither of us had hoods!

FL does get that mist, similar to what we often get here in Tacoma (though quite a bit warmer in FL!). But FL can definitely VERY hard rains, though they usually just sweep through for an hour or so (discounting hurricanes, of course). When my brother was in high school in Miami, every single day it POURED just as school let out, then by the time he got home and dry, the rain was finished. 3 to 4 pm almost every single day.

I'll be there on the 22nd with my aunt. Keep your eyes peeled for a young adult dressed similar to Tinkerbell, complete with those light-up wings you can get in the princess shop in the castle.

**Update** Just made my reservation for the BB!!!! In my zillion trips to DL, I have NEVER eaten there, so I'm over-excited!:cloud9:  Went for 11:30 am so that we can get a waterside table. I'll even camp out early while my aunt goes on POTC just so that I can get one. After all, having waited this long, I think I deserve it. :snooty:

Only other time I ate at a sit down restaurant at DL was Aladin's Oasis. I <3ed the chocolate lamps :genie: with the raspberry sauce....too bad it's gone.

We will be there from the 25th to the 29th and staying at Candy Cane.

Hoping for lighter crowds than we have seen in October.

We'll be there from the 15-19th for our final Disney trip before kids, staying at the Grand Californian. Next January we'll have another Disney addict in the family.

Be careful it doesn't look like a costume; they aren't allowed for adults and you won't be allowed in if it does.

I'm like a sneaky ninja with these things...already managed to pull off a Cinderella costume. I've got my eye on this strapless two-toned green dress with a floral-ish print on it for the dress (just gotta give it a more ragged "petal-y" hem), paired with some pointy shoes covered in green tape (if I can't find shoes by then) and topped with either white flowers or white puffballs, my wings, and my hair pulled up in a bun with a black ribbon tied around it (if my hair isn't long enough, I'll just bobby pin in a fake bun)...:wizard: voila Tink my way.

The not-Disney Tink dress:
