Leaving Louisiana the late afternoon on the 24th, driving half-way, then getting into Orlando on the 25th. Staying till the following Sat, March 4. We've never driven before, but airline tickets are too pricey for us right now. Staying off-site, too ( ) and I hope it will be ok. I'm a little nervous because I've only stayed on-site and know how great that is. But what's the worst that could happen?(Don't answer that. ) Looking forward to seeing all of you there. Wave when you see us.
We are going at the end of Feb. Dh has a conference so I get to stay at my first Deluxe hotel. I am really kind of excited to explore Disney on my own. We were just there in Oct. with the whole family and it was a little on the hectic side with the hurricane and all. This time it is all about new experiences and doing things I want to do. I can watch and be amazed by the gorillas in AK as long as I want without someone tugging on my arm and telling me how stinky it is and how bored they are. LOL!
WOOOHOOO! I also have 2 weeks and counting! I keep thinking about what I'll be doing at this time (about to land) 2 weeks from today!
I have been packing, making lists, making lists ABOUT lists, checking and REchecking all my ADR's, park touring days, vouchers etc...I am extremely obsessed....
And look--I am on the DIS when I should be on my way to work!
We will be there Feb. 3-9. We are staying at the Orlando World Center Marriott. My husband has a work conference on Saturday and Sunday and his boss was nice enough to throw in a few extra days for us all to go. All on the company. I am so excited! We are driving from Virginia, leaving on Thursday and spending the night in Jacksonville then heading to Orlando on Friday morning. It will be my first time going with children....my two boys Alex (6) and Noah (2.5).
I took someone's advice on here and signed up with Tourgide Mike. I am so glad I did. I feel so prepared for this trip and I know we are going to have a great time!
We leave this Saturday and I can't do anything but think about all our fun. Our suitcases are packed and we are ready to go. Now it's just the final count down. I checked the weather this morning and other than Saturday looking iffy, it looks like it's going to be in the upper 60s, low 70s - great weather!
For anyone getting ready to go - have a Magical Time!!
I'm staying at POR February 23 to 25th then moving to my DVC home of OKW from February 25th to February 28th. Got great fare from JetBlue (JFK to Orlando) $190 (same flight now one way is $294 - ouch). Am using passholder discount for POR - so glad they brought that back so I can take a last minute trip and using my DVC points.
