who's eaten Omaha steaks?

I see them all the time given on Regis & Kelly for prizes but I just wonder if they are really good - thinking maybe possibly sending as a gift to my brothers...but I don't have a clue what to buy (we dont' eat much steak)...so any tips would be great..

We got them as a gift one Christmas - and they were very good. I have such a hard time buying steaks at the grocery store. And the selection isn't very good. So now we order from Omaha - it's easy and they are always having specials. We usually order the New York Strip steak.

My brother gets his steak from them all the time.

A store opened up around us so I checked it out, they were running a 50% off sale. The steaks were so good. I have a few boxes in the freezer now.

We are having their filet wrapped in bacon for Christmas Dinner. Their stuffed potatoes are great too.

I looooove Omaha steaks. I am so spoiled for them I don't buy any other kind. And they have the best hamburgers I've ever eaten in my life!!! every time I make them for a dinner, I get so many compliments on them-they're excellent! And they do make a great gift. Last year, our MIL got us a variety package where we got hamburgers, steaks and other stuff. It was my favorite gift!!

I don't even care for steaks at Morton's Steakhouse anymore....Omaha Steaks have ruined me. Our in-laws got them for us one time as a gift. It was like those pushers who give you samples of drugs! Absolutely addicting.

I guess I am in the minority here. I got a special order of them for Christmas 3 years ago from MIL, all of the meat was not good, it was tough and had lots of sinew running through the fillets. She also had them send a cheesecake, it tasted like cardboard. Maybe we were just unlucky, but I would never order from them again.

Another in the minority. I thought their steaks mediocre at best. Our small local market's steaks are far superior!

We've ordered from them for about a year now. We get the triple trimmed filets and they're awesome.

The only thing about Omaha that bugs me is how much they bug you! They're either calling or sending an email every few days to tell you about the latest special. Once you ask them to stop, they will, it's just annoying until you do!

Another big fan here. I have send them for Christmas gifts as, too. But I do not order them too often, they are expensive and I agree with Annette, they call and try to solicite business way too much! I finally asked them to stop calling as well.

BTW, the only store I have seen here that sells them is "Barbeques Galore" - they sell upscale BBQ's and accesories.

Another minority here. (or is it getting majority now.)

Anyway there is a number of stores near us. I have gone and bought a some a few times. (with a coupon.) They were fine, but I get some steak at Cost co that is just as good and my local market.

Oh and LOVE Mortins steak house, but I normally get the crab cakes!
