We're going to try Raglan Road in October. Just want to hear your thoughts...

What's good? What's not good? Any special extras we should know about??
TIA

My family went in April & loved it. Ages ranged from almost 4 to almost 78 & all Irish. There was lots of sharing of food & not one person was disappointed. Two of the standouts for appetizers were the Smokie City & Heaven on Earth. I don't even like fish & the Smokie City was so good. Some of the entrees we had were Fish n Chips, Pie in the Sky, Steak, Lamb & It's Not Bleedin' Chowder. The kids had burgers & Chicken Stix & ate every bite. For dessert some of us shared the Bread & Butter Pudding. Very yummy. Planning on heading back there in August. Be warned it is an Irish Pub & Restaurant so it is noisy.

Thanks MargJ that was a great review!! :thumbsup2 We will be going to RR also when we get to WDW. I'm excited to try a new place and would also like to hear even more reviews.

Thanks for the info and photo link MargJ. What's in the Pie in the Sky? It looks really excellent, also the Sirloin looks really good.

I'm excited to try RR and I'd love to hear more reviews!

I like it.

The last time I went (July 7) they had taken all the clever names off the menu. They just have regular descriptions of the dishes now. Seems to be the same food, though.

We ate there a few weeks ago & we thought it was just okay. First we were put in a long booth with a chair at the end for an adult in our party. It was hot in that corner for some reason & the kids could not see the Irish dancer without getting out of the booth, which meant they had to ask for the adult at the end to move. We asked if we could be moved so it took another 20 minutes or so to get a table & then we were put in the back room. I just think the set up of the place is not well planned out especially with the Irish dancer being in the main room. The food was good, my Shepard's Pie was tender & delicious, but DH's stew was much too small for his appetite & the goat cheese appetizer came out with this big chunk of cheese & 2 small crisps. All in all the service was pleasant, the food good, the atmosphere poor, and the portions pathetic.

We enjoyed our meal at Raglin Road. The food was decent, the entertaiment was fun, and service was good.

Do you have children? If so you might want to know that it really feels like a bar inside, not like a restaurant with a bar attached like Chilis or Applebees, but like a bar with tables for eating. I am not terribly conservative and I won't take Dniece7 there for a meal. I'm not judging those who think its fine for kids, I would just feel wierd. My grandparents used to take me to eat in bars when I was little and I always felt uncomfortable. I would have felt uncomfortable in Raglin Road as a child.

We have been at RR at least a 1/2 dozen times now since it has opened. We love it. We have been with our adult children, grand children and friends from out of town. Everyone we have taken there has loved the food.

We have been able to sample quite a few things on the menu. As far as appetizers, the scallop forest is excellent, as well as the smokie fish dip mentioned earlier in this thread. For entree's hubby's favorite remains the Kevin's Kudos (the restaurants signature dish). The fish and chips is very good. Our daughter in law had the sausage meal and she loved it. As far as desserts, we have been lucky enough to try them all at least once, lol. The bread and butter pudding is my favorite, but they are all fantastic, so save room.

The atmosphere is quite fun, and I would not hesitate to take children in there for dinner. Everytime we go there are plenty of families in there enjoying meals. As far as children being able to see the dancers...well, if you want a table in the main area, you have to go early. Dancers don't start until 9pm, and I am guessing most families won't have their kids at pleasure island at that time anyway.

RR opens at 3pm. Go and enjoy!

Chicken & Mushrooms in a pastry shell. This was excellent. My Mom & I shared the Pie in the Sky & the Sirloin & loved both.

Is RR on the dining plan?
Yeah, DH and I are using DP credits to eat there.

By the way...we are not taking kids. That will be our grownups night out while the kids have fun at the Neverland Club.
