Whos done Disney Dining???? Recommend it??? Good savings???

We are thinking about the Deluxe plan for when we next go - especially if the $ stays as bad as it is - could save even more money :cool1:

you still have to factor in the tip for the food you eat

Hiya All.

Just had a quick look over on the Main Dis Dining Board and it looks like Appetizers are not included :confused3

Only Main Course and Dessert is permitted. :sad2:

Personnally I would prefer it to be the opposite way round were as Starters were included with dessert as an extra !!!

For the deluxe it says its included http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=29587676&postcount=4

but not with the regular plan http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=29587642&postcount=3

It will work well for us as we usually just eat a main course but sometimes have a dessert.

Thanks Paul the link will help.
The deluxe plan looks way too much food and I can eat.

If that happens to us they don't stand a chance of getting the expected tip. I don't mind tipping at all but service has to be spot on for me.

Wayne - we have done 3 weeks in total on the DDP and only had one server at 50's Prime Time that was below par (so bad that I actually asked for a manager). The rest were excellent and some were actually outstanding!

I think I might be one of the few who didn't mind when they removed the tip from the DDP. I was upset at first that it would cost more but then decided that I could tip the servers what I felt they earned. When the DDP included the tip we did leave extra for excellent service :thumbsup2 but I like being able to leave a bit less if they are not so good.

I've been umming and aahing over whether to add DDP to our booking or not and finally decided not.

My youngest hardly eats so for her it would be a total waste. She would much prefer to share something off mine or DH plate and then have her own pudding.

Neither my DH or I could manage a dessert 14 nights - I would say we'd average a dessert twice a week so I don't think it would pay for us.

We're not big eaters and on our last trip to WDW my DH and I found ourselves sharing some of the main courses as they were such big servings.
Also I find it very hard to think ahead about my meals so would hate to have to book reservations in advance and then be tied to something as we're very much a go with the flow family.

I think when the girls are older and eating bigger meals we'd consider it - having said that any future trips (after this one) will be probably fall end August so would watch out for free DDP offers.

To be fair Wayne, the bad service was in the minority it's just that when it does happen it put's your nose out of joint! eg. We booked The Flying Fish, the attitude at the front desk stunk,we were told there would be a 20 min wait as we were early but ended up 90 mins by our original time - now as you can see I'm pretty patient- so get's to the desk to ask what's happening-I can see that the place is half empty but still no table- at this point I hand back the bleeper & tell them to forget it-miraculously a table appears to be ready! BUT & here's the rub,the food & service (at the table) were excellent.
I just felt that sometimes as soon as you said you were on DDP their attitude changed.
SD:thumbsup2
