Who's confirmed for the Member Cruise August 2014?

We have an 11A on deck 9. This will be our third MC. Finally got in the queue at 9:32 ET. Total time from getting in the queue to booking was 1 hour.

I look forward to meeting you. You have answered many questions, and are very helpful to all!

This is my 3rd MC as well.

I will be joining you all! This is our 1st MC! So excited!!!! Oh and for the record, I started calling at 8:59 and got transferred 2x, and FINALLY was booked at 10:05!

:beach:Well I just got off the phone and booked a Cat 5A on deck 10. Got through after almost 2 hours at 11:13 and finished at 12:41. The lady I spoke with was great but very slow because she only books the member cruise one time a year she was not really sure about how it all works kept putting me on hold to ask someone questions. I am happy with what I got so all is good. This will be our 2nd member cruise. Cant wait.:beach:

Called at 10:05 a.m., on hold for 1 hour - was able to get category 7A (cheapest verandah)

First MC!

For a lark, I just dialed the number and got right through! Well I don't know if there's a queue to speak to a person.

Took 2 hours, 20 mins total but we are booked on our first ever MC! In a 7A on deck 5 (cheapest room category left once we got through).

We are so excited!!!!!

It took over an hour. I was cut off half way through my first call. I thought that the agent would call me back but she didn't, so I had to call back and wait on hold again. The agent was able to pull up the partial reservation and complete it. We're in a category 5A on Deck 10, so I'm very happy and it was worth the wait. Also booked two days at BLT for after the cruise. We went on the member cruise two years ago and had a wonderful time so I'm looking forward to it very much.

I have the night before booked at BLT...looking to see if people would like to meet in TOWL!:goodvibes

I'm feeling a bit shell-shocked by the whole experience. I could see categories disappearing before my eyes. At one point the CM listed about five available staterooms, and then said "Oh, now there's only one." I told her to grab it!

Now I realize that she didn't give me a dining assignment, so I guess I'll call back. We prefer late dining anyway, so that should not be a problem.

Surely there has to be a better way to handle this?

Love the idea of a meet-up at Top of the World Lounge at BLT -- we'll be there for a few days before the cruise.

Has anyone started a cruise meet thread yet?

WOW! That's all I can say. We weren't planning on doing this cruise but just out of curiosity i just checked the member site . The only thing still available as of 5 minutes ago was Cat.4, V,&T.Have a great cruise everybody.:wizard:

Yes, it's a surprise to me about how quickly other categories booked up. For the January MC, I booked 3 months after the initial booking, and only the higher categories were available.

Started calling at 9am on the dot. Nothing but busy signals for 35 minutes !!!! Finally get through .on hold for 55 minutes, was on my cell at the time was so afraid that I was going to get disconnected. After about close to a hour on the phone with MS we are confirmed for Cat 4A Main Dining..First Member Cruise 3rd Disney Cruise in all… Family very excited, we cruise every other year but when we saw this we knew we wanted to be a part of it..CANT WAIT !!!!!!

50 minutes of busy signals on 2 cell phones...
50 minutes of wonderful Disney on-hold music...
and 20ish minutes on the actual call.
But worth every second! Can't wait to join yinz!
:sail:

Called exactly at 9 and was on hold for about 45 minutes but was able to snag the last 10A room. :cool1:

We had friends over this weekend for my DS's birthday party who are also members. They were calling from their cell next to me and only got the dreaded busy signal. Luckily I was able to pass my phone to them and they were able to book their two rooms right across the hall from our room.

We are all on Deck 7 and have the Main Dinning.

This will be our second DCL cruise but first MC. Very excited for the double dip at Castaway Cay.

It appears that with DVC moving the cruise from Sept to the end of Aug got what they wanted, a sold out ship. I looked at the room availability about 30 minutes ago and the only ones left are 4, V and T, the most expensive.

Those of us who purchased re-sale are we allowed to go on member cruises if we pay for the cruise?

Not if you purchased resale after 3/21/2011. From the Member Cruise detail page at DVCMember.com:

As of March 21, 2011, Members who purchase their Ownership Interest through Disney Vacation Development, Inc. are eligible to book reservations for all Member Getaways collections. Members who purchase on the resale market after this date will not be able to use those vacation points or cash to make reservations for the Member Cruise.

Just booked a Cat 4B deck 8 midship. This cruise just happens to fall the week of our 42nd anniversary so it will be a present to us. Never been on a Members cruise before since we just bought DVC in August of 2012.:cool1::cool1:
