I'll be calling member services Mon the 31st to book the Disney Magic for Nov 30, 2002. Cant believe it's almost time!

ooh, shoot, just realized I've gotta make some reservations too...taking my parents to BWV Nov. 30- Dec. 6.

Hey, since this tends to be a really busy member time, should I call day by day? I'm not looking for a standard view, but hoping for a boardwalk view...

Okay, gotta go enter this into my calendar....

I would call day by day, but let them know that you're going to be doing this.

Chances are, Member Services will suggest that you wait until your last day and book it all at once. (I'm too neurotic to follow that plan.:D )

thanksgiving week (make the reservations now) you will have to make day by day - so I have 2 days down and I am trying for the rest - oh by the way member services say until today they were not busy. I have to call about 5 times get to get in the waiting area but lucky I was only on hold about 3 minutes.

Just a reminder that we are getting into Member Services' "busy season". They say folks get together over the Christmas holidays and make their vacation plans for the upcoming year....come early January the phones light up at MS. Don't forget e-mail and faxing are ways to try and beat the long times on hold.

I have to call January 2 for a 7 month switch effort to BWV July 28 - August 2. Just going to take the preferred route and hope it works out. Also, I'm not going to do the day by day thing. If we "have" to stay at VWL twice in one year, we'll just have to suffer through.

BTW, when I called MS to make my reservations for the above dates at the 11 month mark, they told me that January 2 will be an EXTREMELY busy day. The CM even told me I might want to bring a book to the phone! :)

I started dialing MS at 9:05 this morning to book a February vacation. It took about 15 tries to get through to a ring. Then, I waited on "hold" for about 15 minutes to talk to someone. However, the wait was well worth it. We're definitely going to WDW . . . can't wait!

Now I'm a nervous wreck! I wasn't going to call day by day figuring I would be fine. We just closed on our purchase today which workes out perfectly because we want to go next thanksgiving , WLV, and I just got off the phone with MS and she basically said not to worry but now I don't know. I think I'm going to call on Friday and book what I can and then call on Monday again and then finally on Wed Jan 2 for the last night. What do you all think

I called this morning and booked for May/June at OKW, outside of having to dial a couple of times, it went smoothly. I was on hold with the MS rep (June use year - had to borrow points for May/June then link ressies) longer than I was waiting for the initial answer. I called Delta and had a downgrade voucher from a previous flight, so got flight for $89 r/t. National rental quoted $167 for 8 days. I'm all set... :D

My actual next trip in in 2 weeks. I guess I'm not the only DVCer that has more thn one trip booked at a time.

roelongo, that sounds like a plan!

I think the first day I can call is the 31st anyway....so I'll be calling then for my first night and on the second for my next 2 nights and then depending on how availability is looking either for the next 4 days or at the end of those 4 days. I know Thanksgiving is an incredibly popular time for the masses and the following 2 weeks in Dec. are very popular DVC weeks....soooooo.....I tend to play it with the "better safe than sorry" approach. Of course I'm a little paranoid as I have not stayed on points for the first time....though this will be my third (well, kind of 4th) set of reservations. All have been made at exactly 11 months except for my 2 nights at VWL next month which were booked at about 8 months. I want this December trip to be perfect...taking my parents who are generally Disney scoffers (well, my mom is anyway...my step-dad thinks this will be great!) and who I'm pretty sure think we're nuts for spending a windfall on a timeshare. My mom is a Christmas nut, so I think she'll be pleasantly surprised.

So anyway, Chuck, you're certainly not the only one...I'll have 3 sets of reservations before we leave for our trip in January! January, May and December....it's gonna be a fun year!

roelongo - if you have any trouble call your sales representative - they can get your first reservations - so don't worry.

We're visiting the week before Thanksgiving & Thanksgiving week... I booked the first week + on Wednesday of this week, but now I'm calling day by day to include Thanksgiving itself & the day after...

From here on out if you're planning a Disney vacation from December 1 on, you should really be calling day by day, especially if looking at the BW... we book this time of year most of the time & it's amazing how quickly it books up at the DVC properties...

Soon my wife and I will be making ressies for OKW (Dec.1-7) to stay prior to 7 day DCL Western Caribbean cruise. We will probably only go into the parks one night for the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

Just called MS yesterday to book 5 nights, June 2-7, at Disneys Grand Californian Hotel. This will be our first trip to southern California (we're from northern California) since DCA opened!! Timing is great as that week will be our kids' first week out of school for summer vacation and most other schools are still in session. I'm sure we'll run into the local school field-trip groups but crowds and weather should be great!! I'm suffering slightly from the thought of not going to WDW until spring of 2003 after 4 great trips in a row there since April of '99. We had points in reservation status that needed to be used so we opted to try something different this year!! Have fun making your travel plans everyone!!
