DD16 really wants to go this December with her Grandad (my dad) He went about 12 yrs ago and said it was great. DD16 is a die hard cowgirl, her dream car is the biggest Ford pick-up out there. she has gone to a few PBR events. She is even offering to pay for airfare with her own $$ my dad will pitch in for hotel and tickets. I have no problem with her going with him. DH doesnt want her to go to Vegas he has no problems with my dad. we plan to take her to Cheyenne Frontier days in July.

So who has gone? Tell me about it. Which events to go to?

I went about 12 years ago. It was the first time I ever put my name into the lottery and I won. I couldn't believe it.

My friend and I had a great time. We had tickets to 4 of the go rounds including the last day. It was tons of fun, even if we did have nose bleed seats.

They had the Cowboy Christmas Show that had a lot of booths, some of them with some interesting things. I think that was in the convention center that was just around the corner from the strip. We saw Tom Selleck there with his wife.

Are there any specific questions you had?

No specific questions. DH just doesnt think its right for a teenager should be in Vegas. Its not like they would be in the casinos. Surely there are teens at the NFR. OT- by the way love the pictures of Kevin. Hes one of my favorites.

I go every year, and there are plenty of teenagers there. It would be a great time for her to see the great cowboys in action and be around people that share her interest. Honestly, it would be no worse for her to be in Vegas than it would be for her to be in any other large city in the country.

The NFR is really fun. You might end up paying a pretty penny for tickets right now though. Tickets are distributed on a lottery system, but if you haven't done that, you have to go through a broker to get them. You can't buy them at the actual rodeo. Cowboy Christmas is very cool. Vegas as a whole though is just kinda so-so for me. I can take it or leave it, but then again, I'm not a gambler. Oh, the seafood buffet at the Rio is pretty fun.

I looked at a couple of sites for tickets just wasnt sure where to buy them didnt want to be scammed. They want to go to at least two days. DD16 is so wanting this that she is even going to give up playing in basketball game, this girl lives for bball.

So where would the best place for tickets be? Also what hotel be the best. Dad wants to stay on the strip like he had the last time. They will just take a cab where ever they go.
