I am waiting on our first report to come thru. Love to get some great reviews before we leave for next weekend. And tips too. How where the crowds? Can't wait to hear someone chime in.

I think the regulars around here are buying the fear pass, so they won't go until Sunday.

I can't wait to see how it stacks up this year to years past or what the first timers think can you! I'm so excited to get to go.

It's a possibility for me next year.......I never saw the travel show...but may see if I can find it on Sky on Monday/Tuesday morning. I wonder if it's too scary for a 9 and 7 or it will be by then 10 and 8 year old.

All kids are different but i won't let our 11 yo girl go. It just looked like to much for her to handle. She went with her dad last year to a local house and she's still not over it. I have never been in a haunted house or anything close it. I'm a fraidy cat for sure. So i'm worried i'm gonna freak out. I get scared if i hear the music from a scary show my husband is watching while i'm in the shower. You know the "music" i can hear in there and it scares me! I scream for him to turn it off in not such nice words. I don't know how someone as scared as me will do at such and event so i'm trying to get my head right it's all fake nothing to be freaked about right? Anyways if you see a gal in her husband's back pocket that'll be me.:wave2:

I have gone already this year, but am waiting for next week to do all the houses. I just walked through and got scared a few times by the outside scareactors, but didn't feel like braving the houses by myself!
I did see the Bill and Teds show, and thought it was great! Very funny, and not offensive at all! Which some people had been saying....you just, have to take it for what it is, which it's a spoof show, and then you will have fun!

I wanna hear all about it too Tammy! My son, 10 years old watched the HHN show on the travel channel and thought he would like to do it too. About an hour later he said...maybe next year..ok? LOL I wouldnt let him do it yet either! Be brave and keep telling yourself its all make believe, like we tell the kids!!!

I think it's too scary....but I'm looking forward to reports on it and what everyone thought.

Thanks DM.....sounds like it's like the "Haunted House" then...a mixture of funny and scary...? I can't get the site Barry put on - says page cannot be displayed.
:wizard:

The site barry put up is working for me now. (thanks barry). I will definetly post my review when i get back on the 13th next tuesday but i figured a lot from the board would be back and post way before then. I can't wait to read the reviews. Thanks for that sampling iloveham. That's great. Sounds like you and i are both fraidy cats that need small doses. I'll be going next saturday then again on sunday.

I am personally interested to hear people's reviews on the Bill and Ted show. I was an actor in it last year, and the reviews we heard back from we completely mixed. Some liked it, some didn't. Ah well, such is life. We still had great audiences, and there were the Bill and Ted groupies that always came back for more!
This year is the first year in a long time that the longtime write/director hasn't been connected with the show, and some feel that they want him to come back. Well, even though I love him dearly, my reply to those people is, Where were you guys last year when people were blasting the show? The show this year has a different feel than previous years, but is still a great show. In response to people saying it doesn't have a story...since when has Bill and Ted EVER been about a story or plot line??? LOL!
If people just relax and take it for what it is supposed to be, which is, a silly spoof on current entertainment and political figures , ( ala, Saturday Night Live and Mad Tv), then you will have a good time. There are hot men and beautiful women, dancing, pyro....for goodness sakes it's not supposed to be Broadway people!
;)

I guess I just feel a little protective of these guys, because most of them are my close friends and colleagues and I am proud to call them such. But, I am all about the freedom to believe and say what you want, so if you didn't care for the show, please say so, and then say why. I am curious to know the reasons, just not "Isn't this supposed to be entertaining?"

That could prove to be a very good thing.

Oh, who did you play last year? The shows are always funny, but when there's a story, it's better than just having an overabundance of characters who do little.

There are hot men...

I heard my favorite ghostbuster guy is in it, as well as a couple other guys from the Extreme Ghostbusters Show. :) I wanted to see the Bill & Ted show before I heard this, but this seems like a major bonus for me. :teeth:

I'll probably be going to HHN October 17...but I'm a HUGE wimp also...so I may try to skip the haunted houses and just do the Bill & Ted Show as well as go on the rides like Hulk and Dr. Doom all night. :)

All I have to say is...STATION! ;)

I thought that last year's show was WAY better than this years. As disjointed and nonsensical as last year's show was, it at least had many great and funny moments. This one had a couple of them, but for the most part it was just a bunch of poorly timed "jokes" that hardly anyone laughed at. Even the obligatory Disney bashing fell flat and didn't really get a response. When the funniest moment is one that only viewers of local TV will get, you know the show has a problem.

I don't know, maybe it was just an off show. I'll be seeing it again in a couple of weeks, and I hope it will be better then.

Dark Maurader, I played Kelly Osbourne in last years show.
I had an AWESOME time- in all the years I have been performing, this was probably one of the most fun things I have ever done.
I wish you guys could see the process each show goes through before it makes it to the finished product you guys see in the park. It starts off as this huge script with an involved plot line, and then, the managers come by, and start making cuts. They will cut anything from lines, to save time, to whole characters, because they don't make sense or the audience just isn't getting it. Like, Simon Cowell was originally in our show last year, but was cut due to time and show flow.
The final product is one that is a labor of love for both cast, crew, director and writer/s. It can be hard to make these cuts just the day of, or even after the show has opened, and sometimes, the plot can get lost because of these cuts.
I know I see like I might be whining on about this, but if you could only see it from the other side, and know how hard everyone works to put on the kind of performance we know the audiences expect, well, then you would know just how bad our feelings get hurt when we read awful things about our show.
Hope you liked last year's show, and have a great time at this year's!

Just wanted to add that I had no problems whatsoever with the performers in the show. Everyone was obviously very talented and it was easy to see that they had all worked very hard. It's just the show as a whole wasn't very entertaining to me or the friend I was with. Like I said before, it's possible that things didn't go as smoothly as they could have, and that it will be a better experience the next time I see it.

If anything, it's the script that needs tweaking. There were many points where I found myself saying, "Huh?" Things happened seemingly for no reason. The dance numbers were well done, but the comedy was lacking.

I think they tweaked as they went. We saw the first show which we liked and went back later and saw it again. The second show was slightly different from the first with different people fighting and some different jokes. For example, when the phone rang in the first show Osama said it could be his mother, but in the second he said it might be the Chixie Dicks. There were minor script changes like that throughout the second time we saw it. Also, they brought out the Demi Moore character to dance at the end of the second in her bikini where the same actor was in her tomb raider outfit in the first (same actress, both parts) at the end. (don't know why i may have noticed that)
