Who's been to Akershus lately?

We went twice in December to breakfast. Picture with Belle, then saw Aurora, snow white, ariel and cinderella. I think this seems to be the standard line up.

Characters were far less rushed than CRT. Both Belle and Cinderella recalled my DD on our second visit a week later - Cinderella by name!

Breakfast food excellent. Lunch menu just doesn't appeal to us.

My daughter loved it, but I thought the food was awful. I mean truly horrid. And I'm pretty easy to please.

She saw Belle in the lobby, and Cinderella, Ariel, Snow White and Aurora made the rounds. As another poster mentioned, they don't spend much time with the kids. It was probably the shortest character interactions of any of the character meals I've taken her to.

I agree with the food being awful (but that was lunch). I have heard that breakfast wasn't Norwegian (nt sure about that spelling..lol). I disagree with the character interaction in this post. It was probably the best we had on our 7 day trip. My children (DS 8 and DD 2) were both dressed as Prince Charming and Snow White, so this may have helped. I found that they gave somewhat of better attention to those who were (especially the character you were dressed as). But all of them were great! I even have a picture of Cinderella kissing my DD on her cheek!!! It made for a great memory!!!

Lunch isn't horrible, IMHO. I had the venison sausage (which is actually 2 sausages) and hubby and kids had grilled chicken 3 weeks ago. We've had different meals for lunch and dinner. The cold buffet is good too as it has fresh meats, cheeses, fruits and breads.

We also think the character interaction is quite good too! Tiger :)

We've had great breakfasts there each of the past two years we've gone. Belle has been in the lobby for the "formal" photo each time, and we've seen a wide variety of princesses, including Mulan the first year. We topped off our princess quota with lunch at CRT and various random sightings.

We were there on March 5th for Breakfast and saw Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, Snow White, and Aurora.

The breakfast was really good..none of the other meals appealed to us much. My DH even liked it :)
The princesses were great, too! Super chatty and bubbly!

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Okay... stupid question... the formal photo? Is that included with the cost of the meal or an additional option (like at Ohana)?

It was included for us (on the dining plan). We got a matted 8x10 and 4 - 4x6's with 2 different poses.

Photo package is included for everyone, regardless of whether one is on the DP or not. The large photo is actually not 8x10, but a bit smaller. As you mentioned, it's matted to fit an 8x10 frame. We've also never gotten different poses with our 4x6s either, so that's really cool.

HTH, Tiger :)

I'm extremely surprised at the people who had poor service--our waitress was PHENOMENAL! She was without a doubt the best server we had all week--she and the other waitstaff were some of the friendliest I have ever met--on property or off. We went for dinner, and the food was good but not spectacular. We saw Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel, Aurora, and Belle.

I must be easy to please, we didn't think the food was too bad! Not anything to write home about, but totally "do-able." We did lunch last year, planning it again this year. The kids ate, and the two of us as well. The only thing that wasn't liked by us were the desserts, but you get so full on the cold-bar and the bread and the main course, not a big deal.

Last April 09 we had Belle greeting (I've never heard of any other princess greeting the front door here? Am I wrong?) , and Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel and a very botoxed-looking Aurora all came to our table.

We had 5 people in our party. I assume the photo package is the same as the Castle package in that you get 2 poses per 4 people. So we got 2 different photos with a matted 8x10 (it's actually a 6x8 and as I said, matted to an 8x10) and 4 - 4x6's in each.

Its pronounced: Ak-er-shuss. Its not (Aker-Haus)

I thought I read somewhere that it was A-kers-hoos, and it meant Akers' House. Though that doesn't mean much to me.

I just say "Princess Storybook Dining". :lmao: :thumbsup2

Have received both CRT and Akershus packages at least 10 times, and we've never received more than 1 pose for either 3 or 4 family members. Perhaps it's because you had 5 people, as you mentioned? That is really cool that you received 2 different poses!

I just wanted to clarify the 8x10 being 6x8 as some people like to remove the matting and place in their own frame, so I just wanted to clarify for people that it wasn't an actual 8x10 size in a mat frame.

Thanks, Tiger :)

Ariel was the greeter for quite awhile - we have 2 photos with her, Tiger :)

My son (yes son!) would freak out (in a happy 5 yr old way) if Ariel was the greeter this trip.

We had Belle last trip and my daughter happened to be first in line for the 9am seating. Belle came out and took her hand, led her to the photo room, and spent a crazy amount of time with her (and my son). What a great experience.

But again, if it were ever to be Ariel? major :yay: We'll just be thrilled if Ariel is on the Akershus roster this trip; we've never managed to see her there. And now with the Grotto closing, we are hoping!!!

It's been at least 1.5 years since Ariel was a greeter for us, but with the Grotto closing, you never know!

Good luck, Tiger :)

I have been there twice. I really enjoyed it. The potatos are delicious during breakfast! I thought they were very interactive. The princesses asked us questions, got pictures and talked to us. I enjoyed it and would definitely do it again!

We were there April 1st for dinner. Chris was our waiter and he was great and an added bonus was that he is super cute. The food was delicious and we had Belle of course at the front and Snow White, Jasmine, Ariel and Aurora inside. We were happy with having SW and J, bc we had not gotten their autographs yet. Jasmine was great fun and Snow White was definitely in character with her Betty Boop like voice, lol.

We really enjoyed our meal and we always go to Akershus when we visit the World.:goodvibes
