Well, we finally did it. After over a year of thinking, planning, changing our mind, getting scared , more planning, we finally bought a 4-bdrm house in Emerald Island. The dream has materialized. Our little small-town family will be visiting the mouse every year. I'm so excited my gut hurts.

I would love to hear from other Cdn vacation homeowners!

And no, banks down there consider us "foreigners", and they wanted everything short of our first born to get mortgage down there. And it's way different down there (the whole process, fees, etc). But it's almost done, that's the worst part, I think.

We're all driving down next month. That will be an event in itself - Manitoba to Florida = 29 hours!!!
