Have you given the TA a chance to respond yet? Do they work weekends? Marionnette is right - your room was either booked through the wholesale or convention/groups department (the one day water park ticket gives it away as that is something offered with convention tickets). The TA would have to call that particular department to get this changed and their hours differ from Walt Disney Travel Co. hours. Plus, there have been a lot of glitches in the groups department system lately. Yes, the TA should be able to make this change, but if they don't, you have some good back-up plans.

DW14, she did respond initially saying when I checked in on 8/7 at POFQ I could ask for an early release of my tickets from the 8/10-8/17 reservation, but that doesn't help me to book FP+'s for 8/8 today. Even Guest Services told me all the TA has to do is call and request the change. This is why I'm frustrated. So I am now waiting for another response from an email I sent yesterday, because I still have 3 days left where I can cancel with the TA for a full refund and rebook a trip through WDW directly. The reason for my original post was to show options I was thinking of doing and to see if anyone could point out something I was forgetting.

This is common with packages and not with room-only plus tickets. It sounds as if the TA has booked some sort of meeting or convention room plus special tickets for you because regular 7-day MYW hopper plus tickets would have 7 pluses, not one. Typically, meeting tickets have a day before which they cannot be used and after which, they are no longer valid.

I believe the problem is as @DisneyWishes14 stated. You're trying to have convention/meeting tickets "attached" to a non-convention/meeting room reservation. While it might be possible to release the tickets to you once you arrive, it may not be possible to do so before hand. And whether you can actual use them for the dates preceding the TA-reserved resort stay would depend upon the useful dates for those special tickets. We have a meeting scheduled for the fall and I see the same tickets listed for us. They are only valid for one week prior to the start of our meeting until a few days following its end. We would not have been able to use extra tickets to use on an earlier stay this year, for instance, even though we are entitled to purchase them.

I hope that you consider that at this point, there may not be a very good selection of FP+ left for those dates preceding the TA-reserved stay for which you already have FP+. The offsite guests have already had an opportunity to pre-book their choices. I cannot imagine that there will be anything available today that won't be just as good as the day of your arrival. In fact, Disney often releases extra FP+s to select attractions on the same day when they want to redirect crowds. It may not be worth cancelling that great rate the TA got for your room just so that you can get a few mediocre FP+ booked now.

I see. Well, hopefully your TA will get back to you today. Did you get a big discount on the rooms and tickets? If so, I'm wondering if it's really worth cancelling at this point and paying higher WDW rates just for one day of FP+? I totally understand your frustration!
 

UPDATE: I was able to fix the problem myself with the Group Ticket department. They moved our tickets to the first reservation, we did not lose any of the FP+'s we had booked and we were able to get the FP+'s on 8/8 that we wanted after I cancelled our 8/11 FP+'s so everything turned out well.
