While I am sure the listed recipe is very good, others have found that my cookies made without the use of flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, eggs, water even the oil are excellent in taste and I believe healthier. I grind the rolled oats, walnuts, almonds and to those items plus the cinnamon and nutmeg I include freshly ground flax seed, hazel nuts, pecans, all spice and maple syrup instead of molasses. I moisten the mix with the honey and maple syrup so it is very workable, add plenty of raisins and dark chocolate chips bake in a 300 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes and take them out. They harden but remain soft and chewy which is great for me because I eat many of them on my bicycle rides like yesterday's 125 miler.
Using the above items but without grinding the oats and nuts I also make my rolled oat cereal. Using much less honey and syrup to that mixture I include blueberries and sometimes cranberries and sliced bananas. I can eat the cereal throughout the day and enjoy it as a dessert.
