Whole Milk

Hi,

When we go in October our 1 year old son will still be drinking whole milk. We are currently debating whether to place an order with Garden Grocer.

We were wondering whether we can buy whole milk at our hotel (Saratoga Springs).

We will be able to pack everything else from the UK for the two weeks but could buy from Garden Grocer instead if needs be to get up to the $40 minimum spend.

Does the whole milk have a 7 day shelf life like the UK?

Our expiration date for milk varies between 7 days to 14 days. I bought milk last week that has a best buy date of 7/13. =)

Since Saratoga Springs is DVC, I would assume the store would have whole milk. You may want to check the resort thread. I have found it at WL.

Just note that it is hard to find whole milk in the parks. While a few servings of lower fat milk won't make much of a difference in your son's nutritional profile, if he doesn't like the taste, it may be an issue. My daughter is a whole milk drinker but is okay with the 1% we find in the parks. I just don't like carrying milk in our softside cooler. More of an issue with worrying if it spills and then we get that nice sour smell in our bag.

DGD was particular about her milk and didn't like the taste of 2%. We bought cartons of shelf-stable milk for her when we traveled.

we have had one who loved the 2% but would not touch the shelf-stable. so as I usually say try before you plan on something new on young child when traveling. was a rough couple of hours to go out buy new milk and return to resort at bedtime first nightnot a good way to start trip
