Decided to jump on the DIS for a little Disney fix as our next trip is a year and half away still. I can't believe they have moved over to FP+ completely at all the parks. Good to know.

Question: If we are staying onsite but buy our tickets through AAA can we still reserve 60 days out? We LOVE the AAA parking spots.

Yes, as long as you connect your ticket media to your ON SITE reservation more than 60 days out.

There are AAA parking spots? This is my first time booking our disney vacation through AAA. We are staying at the contemporary...are there special AAA parking spots there? How do I go about parking there if there are special spots. Does the resort give me some sort of parking pass? How does it work? LoL

You have to obtain a pass from AAA. Depending on your local AAA policies, you may have to purchase a full vacation package from them. It varies by location. It just puts you in the front of the park lot, subject to availability. Not at the resort. Some times of the year it cannot be used.

In our scenario - I just called AAA ahead of time and they said that we would get the pass by just buying the tickets through them. DH had to go in to local office to pick up the pass. I had heard mixed reviews on the parking spots but we thought they were awesome.

Especially at DHS, AK, and Epcot. We were running a little behind on our Epcot day and so when we got there the parking lot was really filling up... we were waved forward quite a few rows up to the AAA spots. We went in May. I assume in busy season they might fill up fast.

OHHHH - you are onsite... yes it is for special parking spots at the parks themselves - so really only useful if you are driving to and from parks. With three very little kids, and strollers and all we drive to the parks even when onsite (minus MK) so we plan on trying to get these passes going forward on our trips.
