Whoa..Annual Pass Increase - Effective 10/4/15

Also, they are only good for a year from the first date of use, so it would have to be within a year.

I read that too. I think that's the way it should be and the cm you got at the booth just didn't know that.

Agreed. I had to go through an entire story of how I called in and spoke to people... three times. And then finally when I had mentioned that all I wanted to do was get this figured out so I could upgrade to Premier, then they finally were ready to work with me.

If the OP had wanted to just get a PAP, they would have received a Signature Plus.

The ticket counter people right from the get-go were saying "we will honor the $779 but you won't get a Signature Plus with this" right when we started the transaction. This is different from what the AP phone line people were saying. So unless something changed, he was either unaware or they were changing their policy. The Premier didn't even come up until he saw my pass on the counter.

To purchase Premier, they have to issue Premium (or Signature Plus now) first so that Disneyland has a record of you having the pass - which they then destroy the physical pass. Then you pay the difference in cost to get to Premier to get the gold card. It's very complicated... and something we've now done four years in a row.

We have premier too.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Thought I would share my experience. Bought 2 premium AP vouchers at South Coast Plaza last Monday. Went to Disneyland this afternoon (Sunday), stood in the ticket booth line for over 45 min in 98 degree weather, but happy to report ticket booth CM automatically upgraded the premium vouchers to the Signature Plus AP without any problem at all. I didn't even have to ask them to do it, it seems like they knew the drill already.

Well there were close to 10 PAP gift cads at my Safeway today....told dh if I had the cash right now I'd have bought them since ours expire in a month. Oh well! If anyone is in Placer County it was at the Safeway on Douglas :)

Oh man, that's my Safeway but I already bought our 5 day park hopper tickets a few days ago, worried that they may increase the price on regular tickets before our upcoming trip! I thought for sure they would have been pulled from the shelf!

I'm so happy that you had a positive experience! That's how it was suppose to have gone -- it seems like I may have just had the dumb cast members. >:(

Well Saturday Safeway still had the old AP vouchers. So i FINALLY found a family able to buy our 5 day park hopper tickets and went back today to buy them and they were instrucred to pull them from the shelves yesterday. Bummer.

Is the Signature Plus AP look the same as the old passes?

Bummer! They were still there in Sunday...we don't need new ones until Dec, and since we're going to DLR this week I didn't need an extra expense like that.

The Signature Plus APs look exactly the same as the old passes. In fact, they are the same cards, just remagnetized with new info. We were able to renew our Premium APs last weekend using Premium vouchers. The CM had no problem accepting the voucher and giving us Signature Plus passes. She took our old passes and keyed in the new info, then handed the same passes back to us. When we asked whether we would receive new cards, she said that they weren't doing that. The only passes that look different are the Premier passes.

Yeah, live and learn. I had someone lined up to buy the our 5-day park hoppers, but I didn't want to go buy the vouchers before they paid me JUST IN CASE it fell through. Oh well. First world problems, eh? And after I thought about it, I thought someone in here mentioned brick & mortar Disney Stores were instructed to pull them by the 19th. I should have thought about it and realized it might apply to us. So I re-bought our 5-day park hoppers which we'll then upgrade once we are there. Still hoping that they add the borders to the PP+ that now come with the signature AP (and maybe the character meal printed photos!)

Still waiting to hear if Premium passes will get the PP+ added on. I mean, we pretty much have the Signature Plus soooo they might as well give it to us for the rest of our pass time until we have to renew and change it

It's possible, but I can see Disney holding out so that Premiums pay the extra $$ to upgrade to Signature or Signature Plus. The CM at the ticket booth told us that PAPs would not have the PP benefit. So we'll see...

According to a Premium APer in the PhotoPass SuperThread, they DID get the PP+ benefits on a recent visit, though they did have to download the pictures before their AP expired. There were no borders or stickers available to add though.

If we are thinking of the same poster, that person had a Premier pass. Other boards have mentioned that Premier passholders were able to get the PP perk (not PP+ with the borders, as you noted) right away. CMs have told me that Premiums will have to upgrade or renew to Signature or Signature Plus to get the PP benefit. But what Disney says and what actually happens can be so different in real life. I'm also interested to see if any Premiums get the benefit without upgrading.

If anyone has a PAP that is expiring within the next 45 days I was wondering what kind of discount, if any, are they offering you to renew your pass with the signature plus?

The renewal price for us (PAP to Signature Plus) was $980 (so the discount is a bit more than before, $69 vs. $60).

Forgive me, long time lurker, but I registered just to comment on this. This differs from what I'm seeing (and have been seeing since the jump in price) in my account.

It says it is $989 for the Signature Plus for renewal and $799 for Signature (coming from a PAP) in my account. So it's still a $60 discount for the highest pass. $50 for the other. Does your account say something different? I would be very intrigued if others were seeing varying renewal amounts.
