Who with younger kids didn't like BCV?

With SAB, BCV just seems like it would be ideal for families with kids under 18.

Of course, ideal for families with kids under 18, who love water parks.

Many of the responses I read say that BCV is very high energy and filled with kids running everywhere. Definately not the resort for a quiet stay, correct?
I think BCV is ideal for a quiet stay. There are several great places to just lie and read a book: the Solarium, the area with the doors to the quiet pool (I can't remember the name), the closed off lounge on the right as you enter the BCV (again, I can't remember the name), SAB's sandy pool area (I thik it's the area meant for toddlers-it's shady, so there aren't many people there). I love BCV, and I don't swim! SAB holds no interest for me, except for the area I just mentioned, where I can grab a lounge chair and read a good book. And in the evening, I love to go out to the beach area, sit in a swing, and watch the ferry boats going across the water with Boardwalk in the backround.

neither my kids, nor my (young) nephews cared for SAB (with multiple vacations at the BC, YC, & BCVs).
the biggest complaint was that it is simply too crowded (all have been swimming since they were little ~ pools, bay, & ocean).
otoh, they all love luna park (easy access to slide, can actually swim and/or play without bumping into people).
personally, i like luna park much more than SAB also (too noisy & crowded for us), but prefer BW's "quiet pool" most of all :)
(& yes, we found the BCVs & BC both in- & outdoor common areas (lobby, hallways, etc) noticably more noisy & "busy" than other DVC or deluxe resorts. however, the YC is much more serene than its sister resort).

You have to go outside the pool area and across the main walkway to get to the slide entrance.

This always makes me nervous with DS7...

Also... With one parent at the end of the waterslide on one end, and the other parent by the kiddie slide entrance, it's just hard to get into a relaxing mood...

DS7 never really wanted to do the lazy river or the wade in pool... DD4 had no interest in the large waterslide or the whirlpool... DW and I had to pretty much stay in seperate locations the whole time we were in the pools. Just didn't feel like a family outing...

We stayed at BCV in June 07 with DD14, DS11, & DS7. They loved it. I was a little nervous with DS7 because I couldn't always see him. I don't stay by his side in a normal pool, but do like to be able to scan the pool to find him (and my older kids for that matter). So, the kids loved it, but it made me a little nervous. We also enjoyed the quiet pool which was just outside our room (and down the elevator). We usually went to SAB during the day and would go to the quiet pool for a late night swim. We didn't find the resort loud at all and had a very pleasant stay. We'll probably try to switch at 7 months again for another trip.
