Hitting a baseball is generally recognized by those in the industry as one of the most difficult things in all of sports. Honestly, comparing the two sports is rather silly. They each require a great deal of talent and hard work.

Yes, hockey is a rougher game -- not more difficult, rougher.

Baseball is a game of moments. Every pitch is not necessarily exciting. Nor is every swing. Hockey is constant action. Baseball is not. But there are moments in a game that are clearly pivotal and filled with excitement.

You are 100% correct. I totally agree.

Yes it is more difficult you have to be very skilled to play it and play it well. You have never seen an overweight hockeyplayer well not in the last 10 years anyhow like you do with baseball David Wells being a prime example. Yes Hockey is a rougher game and always exciting especially the close games 1-1 etc. Baseball is never exciting most times it is like watching paint dry all you really ever see is the pitcher and the hitter and catcher and occasionally the shortstop and 2nd baseman. I just don't find any excitement in teh game even a game filled with hits now the ones where there is a brawl is a good time but they don't know how to fight at all LOL. My dad is a huge Tigers fan but since 94 and the lockout he hasn't watched a single game.

I feel silly, but I was hoping I could vote for the Blue Jays. I guess I really don't pay enough attention to baseball. :confused3

Well, if you didn't find any excitement in the Yankees-Red Sox playoff matchups over the past couple of years, you never will in baseball. That's fine, but it doesn't mean that excitement doesn't exist in baseball.

Frankly, I don't think hockey is all that exciting (much the same way you see baseball). It certainly is exciting to a good number of people though. I can't really deny that. Likewise, millions will be watching the baseball playoffs over the next few weeks -- tuning in for a little October excitement ;)

As for overweight players, in baseball they are certainly the exception rather than the rule. It is possible to play certain positions well and be overweight. But it's very unlikely.

To be honest I didn't find any excitement in the Bo Sox Yankees playoff games LOL as sad as that may sound they just didn't do anything for me. I have more fun watching curling.

You sound exactly like my DH! :teeth:

My husband is so excited about the Flyer's game tonight, but unfortunately he also loves baseball & football, so I don't plan on seeing him much for the next few months. :sunny:

White Sox!!!!!!!!

Who else could we conut on to give a good show with each game presented to them. I mean, who else could win it, the Yankees? As much chance as the Padres have in my opinion. :p

WIN OR DIE TRYING!!!!!

Exactly... Like there is only one team that will make me root for the Cardinals -- The White Sox. Right now I am the biggest "Anyone playing the White Sox" fan around!

I could not stand a year of listening to my Sox friends.... ugh.

I've got a friend who is a Cubs fan and all year long I have to hear about the Cubs - who I might add I don't hate. :) Now all of a sudden he is emailing me about the White Sox. I finally emailed him back and said it must be nice to have more then one team to be a fair weather fan to.

Go Cardinals!

Got to go with the Cardinals...
2nd pick would be the White Sox...

Obviously, I'm pulling for my Yankees. I really feel that the WS winner will come from the American League. I don't think any of the NL teams will get past the AL Champs, whichever of the four teams that may be.

I'm watching the Sox/Sox game as I type this and I just had to say:

Tony "Buckner" Graffanino!!! :rotfl2:
