"....Ricki, sweetie, how'd y'all feel about having a young deddy, huh, darlin'?"

LOL Great picture.

I think Jef is going to look like a boy forever. I'm just not into the little boy baby face look.
I thought Chris was a little mean when Emily said good bye to him. "Do you have an explanation?" And then his declaration that he's 10 times the man any of the other guys are....um, NO.Well done, Emily. I thought the guys reaction was interesting. Arie was smug and sort of laughing, and then Sean said sincerely, "That's tough." He had empathy for Chris.

I'll be glad to see Arie go. He is not right for her. Emily would do well with either Sean or Jef. I like them both, but I'm leaning toward Jef right now.

Did you see the previews for Bachelor Pad, with stupid Kaylon walking in and handing Chris his car keys, like he was a valet?
I thought the same thing about Chris's goodbye. Maybe Brad can give him his therapist's phone number, because Chris has been a mess for a while. (Altho, Brad wasn't exactly a therapy success story.)

Ugh...Bachelor Pad. Another show that I'll waste my time on. ;)

I had to get off the boards just as Sean's hometown date started.

I am relieved that his living at home and room were jokes. I think Emily handled the joke well, too. I am also thrilled that Chris was the one that went home! :thumbsup2 I agree with the person here that said that Chris handled it in a rude way when he asked if she had an explanation.
I want Sean and Jef to be the final two. However, I am not sure which one I want to be the last man standing. I like them both.

...didn't he just apologize LAST WEEK for the exact same thing? :confused3 popcorn::

I think red lipstick boy's entire purpose for his appearance was to get on the BP. He wasn't interested in Emily at ALL.:sad2:

::yes:: :happytv:

Well, I am not surprised that Chris is the final "mystery" person for the Bachelor Pad cast. He has just enough of psycho inside him to appeal to the other castmates.

Also, just so you all know, I came across this article about the finale and ATFR special. They will not be on Monday night, they will be live and on a SUNDAY night. Here's the article:

....yeah, he and the 'princess'....now, THAT'D be a 'power-couple'...popcorn::

Well, I'll just come out and say it.

I thought that the practical jokes went just too far.
The situation was stressful enough, and to do that to Emily...
To purposefully throw these kinds of things at her and try to see if they could upset her. Not appropriate.

And the same thing goes for Arie's family speaking more than two syllables in Dutch among each other, while she is sitting right there, trying to meet them and get to know them.

Both of these things would be something that I would very seriously consider. Thinking WTH, and why would a family want to be this way. In collusion against a wonderful, possible future family member, mother of grandchildren/cousins, etc.... Putting under pressure cooker fire, instead of simply welcoming her.

Now, Jef, out on that incredibly gorgeous ranch property in Utah, finally taking Emily into his arms, the way a MAN should - and riding off into the sunset on a fun ride on that four-wheeler dune buggy thing. That was something.

If I were single and about half my age!!!!! :rotfl2:

Yes he did.:rolleyes1

Since this is my first season to ever watch, I am wanting to know more about this Bachelor Pad that you all talk about. What channel? When does it come on? What is the show about?

Sean's dad seems sweet. I'm not really into practical jokes myself, but I guess if that's what you're into...At least that wasn't really where Sean lived! I hope that wherever he does live, he doesn't have a racecar bed.

When Emily was talking to Chris Harrison before the rose ceremony and he asked about Arie, she said, "He's been so open and honest with me from day one." -WHAT?!

Much as I love sweetie pie Sean and his biceps, I thought that practical joke went too far as well. Emily was really shocked but tried to overcome it. However, did you hear what she said...she was rethinking everything about Sean based on that messy room in his parent's house. Of course that was before she learned it was a practical joke but still.

And the same thing goes for Arie's family speaking more than two syllables in Dutch among each other, while she is sitting right there, trying to meet them and get to know them.

I was completely disgusted by their superior air. Talk about rude, speaking in another language in front of Emily? Her face said it all, she was confused, uncomfortable and didn't know what to do. I'd have been iritated with BOTH Arie and his parents. Arie, if he had any b@lls, would've responded in English and reminded his parents that Emily doesn't speak Dutch. But he's a weenie so I guess I'm not surprised that he just let his parents steamroll over him and continue talking about Emily in another language.:sad2:

I agree. There's a time and a place for that kind of humor. But for pete's sake, get to know Emily first before then.

Now, Jef, out on that incredibly gorgeous ranch property in Utah, finally taking Emily into his arms, the way a MAN should - and riding off into the sunset on a fun ride on that four-wheeler dune buggy thing. That was something.

Jef's hometown was my favorite. He looked even more relaxed and eager to show Emily to his family. His brother wisely said that Emily would be the calming influence since Jef tends to be more free spirited. They balance one another. That is very much like my husband and myself...he's the passionate, impetuous one and I'm the calmer, let's think this through for the millionth time type.

If I were single and about half my age!!!!! :rotfl2:

:lmao: Jef pulled together a very nice date, I loved the letter he wrote too.

So I read on the Internet that Chris gave Emily a "one finger salute" as the limo pulled away. I went back and checked to see if I could see it, and sure enough, it looks like he did it from the sunroof of the limo! ABC blurred it out, but I paused it and it sure looked like it to me.

Did anyone else notice this??

I think Jef was kind of at an advantage, in a way, by not having his parents there. Mormans? Would they have gotten into a religious conversation with her? That could get fun! (We DISers know how THAT can go. )

I'm not a practical joke person either, but I don't think Sean's family overdid it...much. Of course, I'm probably giving him somewhat of a break here, considering the guy gives me butterflies. Gosh, I feel so cougar-ish. But if I'm going to be a cougar, I'd like to be a cougar to Sean. Yessiree. Heck, I'd take him over Johnny Depp. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

FFing now.

Wow, I see something sticking up. If he did give the finger, he needs to get help. Some therapist out there can start a business serving just the nuts who go on this show.

Hey, remember that woman doctor who was on the Travis Stork season, who was bumped the first night and went ballistic on him? Wonder how she's doing. :)

I'm giving Sean's family a pass too because I don't think they are mean-spirited. Some families tease more than others. Sean can be on my cougar list too. It really is a short list though. Just Sean and Zac Efron. :)

Jef's letter was very sweet and overall I like him a lot (even though sometimes in the rose ceremonies he looks a bit like a kid waiting for his prom date!) but I am always a little suspicious of the contestants who proclaim such super intense feelings on these shows. It's been, what, 4 or 5 weeks since they first met and they have maybe spent a total of 18 to 24 hours together in that time? Who can develop feelings THAT strong, THAT fast? That was a letter I would love to hear on my wedding day, not after a couple of fun dates with someone. I know this show creates an artificial atmosphere that heightens all the emotions, but it still feels a little off.

I always root for the contestant like Sean who seems like he is super into Emily but he is not making any big proclamations just yet. That seems more realistic to me and more genuine.

Well, it's a contest. So he has to move faster than he normally would. He was already slow at the start, not kissing Emily twice when he had the chance. So he's got to make up for it now in a splashy way.

She and the kids can be at the track with him even if just during the summer months.

Note: he hasn't actually raced much in recent years. He's done more television commentary than anything.

 Wow! Well, well. So Arie has been a job in the TV spotlight, and this show has certainly highlighted him on TV quite a bit. His randomly deciding to be on the show is becoming less & less about finding the right gal, to finding more TV exposure. :scratchin

Or, he had empathy for what Emily was about to be put through, being asked for an explanation.

I thought at one point she was going to cry,she was so uncomfortable. Really, what possible answer could she give that would have assuaged his anger? :scared:

I felt like I wanted to smudge after that. It's a Native American cleansing ceremony, to rid one & the environment of bad vibes.

You could also see the guys stand around awkwardly when Emily came back. They had to have known it didn't go well with Chris. :crazy2:

Yes, it was the WAY the mother did it. She had just finished asking Emily a question, she turns right to Arie and asks him a question in Dutch. Arie answers in Dutch, then the father joins in too.

It wasn't like they had a full conversation with Emily in English. Everyone got up to stretch, move around, clear dishes, whatever, and Mother & Arie are having a PRIVATE conversation aside, where yes, they would go into speaking Dutch.

It was the JUST having asked Emily something in English, then addressing Arie in Dutch, and all of them continuing in Dutch, that was rude.

I don't know very many real Dutch people, so I don't know if the parents' superior & distant attitude is normal for their culture, in the way we stereotypically think French people can be quite rude & superior - but no, that's just the way they always are, especially to Americans! :lmao:

Yes, but does Emily always want to have to be the strong, steady, calming influence? In a way, she'd have two kids to take care of.

I still say, Emily want's to be the Beta in the relationship, not strong Alpha in charge all the time. She's had to do that for the last 6 years being on her own with Rikki.

Oh, I think they discussed that. But it was all left on the editing room floor. On the show, at no time have they mentioned Jef is from a Mormon family. Someone here, told us from reading something about him.

I think the show purposely does not want Jef's religion to be a distraction during the show.

What I found interesting, is that when Emily talked to Jef's brother & sisters about having like values, she mentions having strong family-centered values.

But, when she talks to Arie's mom, she said on her list of the top 3 things she wants in a guy, the first thing she mentions is Arie's sense of humor. Whaaaat??? :confused3

But his parents weren't there. I think if they had been there, I could see it being discussed, especially if they're that into it. Different religions aren't that big a deal, unless people are strong practitioners. Like, if Katie Holmes was The Bachelorette and brought Tom Cruise home. I think the producers would LOVE it! ;)
