As we discussed before....this would be GREAT! Wish you were going to be there!

Which day are ya'll arriving? Maybe we could have lunch somewhere? Are ya'll all going on the UCA travel package? Our squad doesn't require us to all stay together (lucky for us!). We will be arriving on the 3rd for 3 nights at the Poly and then we move over to the BWV through the 13th. :cheer2: :cheer2:

I think having a DIS parent get together for cheer parents is a wonderful suggestion. Me, DH, DD 18 and DD 12 will be arriving on 3/10 and leaving on 3/16. My daughters compete for a gym out of Carrollton Texas, it will be my oldest DD 4th time to compete at UCA and my youngest DD 2nd time to compete. Our gym does not take all of our teams, because of cost, we take travel teams(or we did it this way for the first time last year, we did take all the older teams 3 years ago). After everyone pays thier entry fees they put together teams by age and skill. Last year we just had one team. If was a lot of fun and the team did well to have practiced for 2 weeks. (we took parts from several teams routinues, so the girls were familar with alot of what they had to learn). UCA is my favorite competetion, what can I say I love any chance to go to WDW. I have to say Cheersport in Atlanta runs a close second.

I think for the families arriving the week before the competition the crowds will be noticibly less than the week after the competition. The week after the competition seems to be when alot of spring breaks start. Not too many spring breaks the first week. I don't care which week I get to go as long as I have time at WDW.

I just have to say how impressed I am with the Stringrays. I saw them last year in Atlanta and Dallas and each team was simply amazing. I am guessing they will be even better this year. Our gym is doing Cheersport this year but not NCA, but my DD's and I plan to go to NCA on Sunday to watch all the Senior teams compete.

We have annual passes and have run in to the dilemma of what to do about packages. I have to buy the packages for my daughters so they can ride the event buses with the teams. I e-mailed UCA and asked if I could just buy bus passes. I then book another room for my husband and I. Last year I sold the park hopper passes to a friend who didn't want to buy the package for her entire family. I gave her a good deal on the park hoppers and I wasn't out as much money.

Sorry this post seems to ramble from paragraph to paragraph. I am running reports at work as I type. :flower:

We are also AP holders. I am still waiting to see if both dd's get to go. If my dd's don't make it we will be there to cheer for our girls that do. Ya'll are right about the difference from the first week of March to the second. There seems to be a large amount of springbreakers there for the second week. :cheer2: :cheer2:

So true!!! Im sad I wont get to do the parent meeting but I am glad my team wont have to compete against the Stingrays!!! ;)
We will be missing everyone by only a couple days!!!

We are arriving early evening on the 8th. We are not required to stay with our squad either but I probably will which means we will be staying at one of the All Stars. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks so much for your kind words. Our Gym has been very fortunate to have great success and most importantly good sportsmanship and fairplay with all of our 14 teams.

My DD is on one of the Senior Squads. Last year, she was 7 for 7 in National Championships...including NCA in Dallas and Cheersport in Atlanta and the WORLDS in Orlando. I would love to meet other Cheer Parents in Orlando this year! :cheer2:

Hi!!
So has anyone competed yet this year??? We are behind because of the darn hurricanes but we are still going to our first regional Dec 10th everyone please say a little "go Gemz" for us we could use it!!
Thanks

We will be there at ASSP Mar.9-12 then POR 12th-14th. I have 2 DD's on a mini team. It is our first year cheering. It is so much cheaper when I book Disney myself without a package, but we are excited to go anyway! :cheer2:

Isnt that the trueth!! Living here in Florida I can get in so much cheaper then if I go with the "group rate" But then I may not be with our block of cheerleaders.

GOOD LUCK!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Our first is NEXT Sat!! YIKES we are so far behind because of the hurricanes!!
So we need all the luck we can also!!!

So how did it go??? I hope you guys rocked!!! Regionals can be funny they are like dress rehersal to me you know get the kinks out.

We have our first on Sunday now we were suppose to compete Sat and Sun but now we are just going to the Sunday competition (phew!!!) :)
These kids are going to practice for 10 hours this week!! 5 days practice 2 hours each!! YIKES!! Trying to make up for lost time!
So anyone who wants to we could use some pixie dust for this weekend!! :cheer2: :cheer2: THANKS! :sunny:

tinkrbell...here is some pixie dust!!!!!

You sure are right about regionals...they are for getting the kinks out and boy do we have a lot of kinks to work out!!!!! ;)

My DD8 Jr prep team won third place!!! My other 2 DD11(junior team) & DS (Sr co-ed) didn't get anything. They have a lot to work on.

Next weekend is a comp that our team hosts so my kids won't compete but they will do an exibition!!!!

We actually don't have another competition until Feb 4 & 5 and that is a national comp in Providence, RI

Good luck next weekend...let us know how you did. :cheer2: :cheer2:

My daughter just joined an all star team and they are shooting for competing in Providence on Feb 4 and 5th too. The team is newly formed so they are not sure if they'll be ready in time. (It's one of the bigger cheer gyms in our area and still has 4th-8th graders on the non travel team).

emmabelle...where in Mass are you? Which all star team is your daughter on? Were you at the MAS comp this weekend? My kids cheer for the Titan All Stars in Enfield, CT.

My daughter joined Northeast Allstars in Melrose, MA. I'm pretty sure that most of their teams haven't competed yet. I think it's because alot of their girls cheer for Pop Warner. My daughter just finished regionals with Pop Warner. They came in 5th out of 17 teams, they needed to place in the top two to be invited to perform at Disney this week. So close. My DD is new to All Stars, she's done PW for four years, I hope she likes All Stars. :goodvibes
