My DW has worked her rear off to get back in shape after our DD was born two years ago. She says she is gonna wear her itsy witsy pre baby bikini to the waterparks in two weeks. You not gonna hear any complaints from me  but how functional is it gonna be on the slides. She'd hate for the girls to make an unexpected apperance (once again no complaints from me if this is the case  )

If she plans on going on some of the bigger slides she should plan on flashing some skin. :earseek: If that doesn't bother her then she should wear whatever she wants. Personally I like to have fun and not be worried about covering myself at all times but that's just me.

IMHO, bikinis are not at all functional at water parks. Also, you say it's "itsy witsy"....remember WDW is a family place so you want to make sure the bathing suit is not too revealing....congrats to your wife though on getting back into shape...have a great trip!

No complaints here either. What exact date and time will you be there and exactly which water park! j/k :rotfl:

       <---Love that Banana guy!

it's a water park - and of course bikini's are welcome...that is all I wear. I don't like one pieces...

and even though it's a "family park" I see nothing wrong with bitty bikini's... from the ones I have seen most everything is covered...I would much rather see those than the speedo style suits. IMO they actually "reveal" more...(not necessarily skin)

oh - to answer the question...they aren't good for the major slides, but for every other slide/ride they work fine. If she is going one of the major slides make sure she covers up unless she ok with flashing!! lol!!

The male Cast Members don't want to work at the bottom of the slides for no reason, you know. Her bikini is very likely to slide upwards (both the top and the bottom!). If neither of you minds, she should be fine. If she values her modesty, she may want to wear something a bit more than an 'itsy witsy' bikini.

I wear a bikini to the water parks, but I also wear a sheer cover up and it's not an 'itsy witsy' bikini. I know I don't like to see women strutting around covered only by a tissue when I have my son with me. It's uncomfortable to see that in a family park.

I am someone who won't wear anything but a bikini.

Except for the waterparks (and waterskiing). It's either a tankini or one piece for me. Trust me, bikini's don't work there unless you are an exobitionist. :earseek:

It's not so much whether or not it's a one piece or two - on the major slides, whatever you started wearing ALWAYS ends up like a thong....board shorts on the bottom are a good idea, but having your suit ride up your rear is pretty funny!

I wore a bikini to TL on our last trip. It wasn't an itsy-bitsy bikini though (just strings and patches) but more of a halter top style. I didn't have any problems on any of the slides I went on. Just advise your wife to spend a little extra time under water when she hits the water to make sure she is covered before she stands up. I don't think anything "escaped", but I always double checked and adjusted my top before I stood up from the water.

You had better post a picture of her in her bikini, just so we can better assist you with our advise. (And to the other women who indicated that they wear bikinis to the WPs, just to be safe, you should post a pic so we can make an informed opinion) :smooth:

This is an excellent idea.

My above questions still haven't been answered!

There's a post somewhere on the DIS in re: to loosing a bikini top while sliding!! If your DW is just going to be lounging I don't see a problem. But BEWARE of the slides!! :rotfl2:

One thing to keep in mind is that you have kids. Mine (DH included) are notorious for grabbing the suit or me in a way that um..... special appearances come close to being made. I am safer on the slides.

She will lose her top in the wave pool at typhoon lagoon, easily and on all the big slides. The bottom will be up her butt most the day.

Tell her to get a one piece and save the bikini for the resort pools.

This past week, women were wearing bikini's at all four theme parks! Some with those flouncy little skirts and some with shorts rolled way down on their bottoms.

I don't know which was worse - the gals who shouldn't really be wearing a bikini (but ya gotta giv'em credit for a high - though misplaced - self esteem), or the gals who looked great in them, causing all the stroller-driving dads to mow over everyone's toes . . .

I wore a bikini to both BB and TL and I mean there was the wedgie going down Summit Plummit and Humunga Cowabunga but everything else the bikinni stayed put. Even in the wave pools and such. I think it just depends on the person :flower:

So I say GO FOR IT!!! :sunny:
