johnnyr- you must be mistaken- we were in 1616- the side facing the quiet pool- I couldn't forget that as my son got lost(scared us to death) but a nice lady brought him back to us because he was able to remember that the room was 1616, he just couldn't get the right building

Polyfan - You are correct, I edited the post. I realized after I posted that I was mistaken. Glad to hear everthing turned out ok with your son.

We were at the Poly 7/2-7/6 and then again 7/11-13. Samoa the first time and then GV concierge.

Now you have me wondering which room #'s I had in Samoa. I'll have to look! I know we were facing the quiet pool on the first floor.

Just checked my papers -- we were 1614 and either 1613 or 1615 (they were next to each other). I know for sure it was 1614 though.

I can't believe we were all on the same floor, rooms apart ... how conincidental is that!!!!

Did either of you have small boys feeding the ducks? The room next to one of our rooms had two young boys outside feeding the ducks one day while we were sitting at.

It is truely is a "small world". I have two girls that were chasing the ducks Poor little guys. Their butts were moving a mile a minute trying to get away! We almost ended up with one in our room I think I did see the boys you mention feeding them. The ducks we saw were a female with little ones. My kids got such a kick out of them.

We were there July 3-10 in Somoa #3602. My kids thought the coolest thing was when the ducks came into the volcano pool at night.

Hey, folks, how did you like Samoa? Would you want to stay there again?? Still trying to decide which longhouse to request..

Disney Poly- we have 2 little boys, and yes they were out there annoying the poor ducks, and probably making any loud noises you may have heard during your stay.

Somoa was perfect for us. I requested it in a faxed request. The location was great. We were on the quite pool side, but spent most of our time in the Volcano pool which was a short walk from our room. Somoa is also close to the GCH. The rooms were like new. Very clean and spacious. I uderstand that it was just renovated and desginated a non-smoking building. I am going to try and request Somoa on my return trip.

Polyfan ... they weren't loud ... I just remember these boys with popcorn having a ball!

Did anyone get to see the artist Wyland in the GCH on July 5th? He was there in the evening and painted a beautiful oil painting of a manatee that was sold for $9000 on the spot.
