Here's the sitch...Going to Orlando 9/1-9/8. Found out that Disney is having their Nights of Joy Fri $ Sat. So avoiding MK those days! We're planning only one day at US and thought we'd do it Friday 9/5. Well, now I find out US has to get into it too and they will do their thing 9/5 and 9/6.

I don't want to do the Rock the Universe thing but what will crowds be like that Friday morning and early afternoon at the Studios?

Who did US last year before the event started? What were crowds like early and what were the like later afternoon before the event goers were allowed in?

Will it be packed from entry on?

Should I hang it up and find another day to go?

Thanks, Sharon

I would recommend you go to Rock the Universe....We went last year, not for the music but for the rides...the park was crowded but it was nice to be there so late and we were able to ride all the ride listed below in just anout 3 1/2 hours;

Jaws
Twister
Terminator
MIB
Earthquake
Kong (second to last night for it, I think)

A lot of people were really there for the music and not clogging up the lines.

It was teenage HEL* though.

Rock the Universe is a separately ticketed event, so you'd have to pay extra to stay for it. I havent been, but I've heard that it is packed with teens.

Thanks for the replies..

I don't want to go to Rock the Universe or purchase the separate ticket. Am traveling with DD and DM (70) and I want to avoid the hugh crowds or being out late w/DM. If it was daugher and I, might consider it. At least it would be cooler at night!

Question is if what will crowds be like on Friday before the event. We'll go at opening and probably leave about 3. Will it be busier than usual all day??

Thanks, Sharon

Crowds wont be too hectic. You're going at a time when school is starting back up, so that will help you out. I'd say to expect waits at a max of 30 minutes for anything.

Thanks Dark Marauder! That's the info I was looking for. We even bought the Kodak camera's w/the express pass deal so hopefully no problems. And we're more likely to get there at opening and leave before the event folks are let in.

Appreciate your expertise!

Sharon
