It seems like everyone I know is getting married! I want a diamond ring too!!!!! And a wedding!!! So....who's gonna buy me a diamond ring? :teeth:

I want a diamond ring, too!

I've been married for 17+ years and I have a diamond ring...I just want another ring...not another husband:p

Last Christmas I took my 3 year old son to the mall to see Santa. I told him to ask Santa for a diamond ring for Mommy.

On Christmas morning I was awoke out of bed at 3 am by my boyfriend who then took me outside to a park bench that he set up on my front lawn and proposed to me. And POW I got my diamond ring. A 1 1/2 carat diamond ring. Am I lucky or what?

So my suggestion is to rush out to your local mall sit on Santas lap and just ask for a diamond ring. Sounds easy doesn't it. lol

My dream wedding is coming June 21st, 2003.

There is one problem with getting a diamond ring at Christmas. And that is "how will my fiance top that this year"
:p

Wags, you don't want one. Half of those friends of yours will be paying divorce attorneys' fees and fighting over custody within the next ten years. And half of those probably already know who they are... the ones more interested in the ring and dress than the relationship.

I took mine off before the Chicago meet and haven't put it back on.

I don't know what to do with it now. Save it for my girls I guess.

i have to agree with doc rafiki. some friends of mine -- well he's a friend, she's not --recently got engaged and he proposed to her b/c he was "sick of her bugging him about it."

she told me that she wanted to get married b/c "all her friends were."

not the most auspicious beginning. :(

she definately wants the wedding and not the marriage. marriage is HARD.

oh man.

Yeah, that's pretty bad.

we've all (their friends) tried to talk them out of it. :(

the good news is that they are waiting until she gets her grad degree, so maybe in those 2 years they will break up. that is what all of us are hoping.

That's what friends are for caitycaity...;)

Hope it works out for the best!:)

This is my second time around. I'm on marriage number 2. I've been there done that this time it's the "real thing" love.

I agree with the posts about diamond rings can lead to custody battles and large attorney bills. It happened to me.

I was one of those women who just wanted to get married for the sake of getting married. (BIG mistake) But it was a lesson learned and if it was'nt for my mistakes I wouldn't be where I am today. Finally I've found true happiness and love.

My suggestion is don't except a ring or a proposal unless you have discovered who you are.

Diamond rings are beautiful. But people don't remeber you by your ring they remeber you by your personality. If your miserable in a relationship it will come through your personality.

Be patient;)

Yeah, if you dont want the husband, you dont want the ring.

I got a ring when I was 21 and I was so sure that I wanted that boyfriend to be my husband...I was so wrong. So wrong in fact that a week later I had stopped wearing the ring and we were broken up!

A year and a half later I had another diamond ring(bigger, I might add;)) and a much better man. We were married 6 months later and have been happily married for over 7 years. I cant tell you how glad I am I didnt settle for diamond ring #1, LOL!

Uh..according to this article, women prefer an HDTV

http://www.wired.com/news/business/0,1367,56245,00.html

After interviewing 1,000 men and women, the Consumer Electronics Association found that 58 percent of women would prefer to own a HDTV set than a 1-carat diamond ring. CEA's study, which was released on Tuesday, said that 64 percent of women would rather have a digital camera than a pair of half-carat diamond stud earrings.

Huh... my engagement ring was an amythest (my request). I would rather have saved for my computer than get a diamond ring. I guess I fall with that seemingly majority who would prefer electronics to diamonds :teeth:

Your day will come. Enjoy the wait and live it to the fullest.

Best wishes.

And the other half of us stay married. :teeth:

Stick it out for Prince Charming, sister. I hear he goes to Harvard. ;)

DS is getting in July and gave his fiancee a beautiful diamond ring. So we are talking weddings here big time!
