So who all is going to stand in line for Walk In and Win Week tapings?
Two more days til the trip...

Sort of anxious, and quietly hoping that whatever number I'm given gets called.

Still don't wanna hear from Paul Mecurio, though.

Well, I was certainly PLANNING on trying ..

but we have just discovered my original Social Security card was apparently taken when the house was broken into several months ago (with everything else, we didn't notice it at first) when I went to collect my documents. I am self employed, so I have no W-2 or a paystub!

The S.S. Admin. today gave me a letter that says its a certification of my SS number, but the card has to be mailed ... ten days to two weeks.

The rules say:

Proof of Social Security Number

Will only accept social security card, a current pay stub or a current W2 statement.

Does anybody who has gone through the process have any advice? I'm wondering if I should even try? I could bring the letter and a 1099, but it would be from last year; my last W-2 is from 2003 ....

?

That's a tough one. My suggestion is, if you enjoy going to Walt Disney World and don't mind the possibility of being turned away from WWTBAM, I'd go. I doubt seriously that anyone here has had quite the circumstances you describe in order to advise you. The Millionaire staff may well turn you away. However, if they do not, and you make it through the random draw to the interview, that story might be just the hook to get yourself in the Hot Seat. They seem to like hardship stories. That and people who went to try out on a dare or didn't have anything better to do.

I think it's worth a try if you're going to be there anyway, after all, the letter is supposed to be proof of your SS- I don't think it gets much more official than that, I'd hope.

I've never heard of the WIAW. What a cool idea! I just wanted to wish you all "Good Luck".

BTW, and this may sound strange but....in the queue area, they play clips from past shows. Does anyone remember if they are still playing the "Sacagawea" clip?

Jason,

Not so strange to be asking about a clip you are in, right? Yes, at least as of June they were still showing that clip. For some reason, they have yet to add a clip of my appearance, so you have a leg up on me. Congratulations on your run, by the way. I assume you have been to Play It! at least once. How well have you done?

By the way, if you care to see my appearance on WWTBAM, I believe it will repeat on GSN at 8 pm this coming Sunday.

Hi, I am the cheering section for all you Millionaire wanna bes. I always wanted a rich friend. (smile)

Rob and Lady, I am rooting for you guys especially since I feel like I know you but I just wanna DISer to win the big prize!

I have my dvd recorder set to tape the show on Sunday night and am looking forward to seeing you Rob.

If anyone is in dire need of a Phone a Friend I might be able to help them out as I have an on line trivia group and there are a few people there who are true 'know it all"s".

Turns out I had better luck at playing the real deal. I once was 9th on the first fastest finger at WWTBAMPI. I never made the hot seat. I've been to Disney about 8 times in the last 4 years but have only gone to the attraction twice. I've got 3 wee little girls that would be bored to tears in there. Though I reallyreallyreally want to go in!
I can't believe that clip is still playing! The first time I saw it was December 2002. I just get a real kick out of it that I can be seen in WDW every 20 minutes.

I don't get GSN so I miss all of the reruns. How well did you do? When were you on?

You can go in and play the game with me when we finally make it down to WDW at the same time :goodvibes. As to your clip with Regis - I have seen it (including when it originally aired), but it has been a long time since I've seen it in the attraction queue. And I have actually watched specifically for you on my last few trips if/when I wait in line, but I have not seen it :(. I kind of thought they must have taken it out when they added all the clips with Meredith Veiera. But a lot of times I don't need to wait in the queue area, so maybe I've just missed it.

I have not read every post here to see if it has been mentioned, but one of the DIS moderators won the million point cruise in December. I remember reading of a couple of other DISers winning before, too (besides people who have posted here). I have missed the million point question twice :headache:, and the 500K question once :(. But I also have missed like the 16K or 32K question . A few years ago I saw 2 different people win the cruise on the same day.

I made it into the hotseat again last January and April, can't remember if I did in October, and did not make it in December. However I did go on a Disney cruise in October, so I'm not quite as motivated to win the cruise as I once was. I also don't want any more hats or shirts (even a small is too big for me :( ). I REALLY want to see one of my friends or family members make it into the hotseat. I've watched JamesD in the hotseat before, but he's the only friend I've ever gotten to watch play.

I am in FL at my in-laws and thought that I would like to give this WIAW a try. However, on the site it says that you must have proof of social security # via SS card, W2 or current pay stub. I do not have those, but it is on my Drivers Lic. - does anyone know if that is acceptable?

Thanks and good luck to everyone going tomorrow.

'Sir Hiss', I don't know for certain, but I would certainly try. The worst that can happen is they turn you away. It seems like they would accept it to me.

ladysoleil made the random draw! Haven't heard from MillionaireAddict yet.

Rob (keeping his fingers crossed)

MillionaireAddict just called. Neither she nor her husband made the random draw.

Sending good wishes to ladysoleil and a friend of mine from another message board who made it through the first hurdle. If the schedule is the same as last year, I should get a call around 1:45 pm Walt Disney World time if either of them are chosen for the Hot Seat.

Rob

ladysoleil just called again, and this time not with good news. She was disqualified on a technicality. The good news is that it is one that she can remedy for next time, so she will get another shot at it, just not today.
