Who uses Creative Memories these days?

When I first started scrapbooking quite a few years ago, I started out using Creative Memories. I loved their products but over time, I moved on to different stuff and got rid of all my CM stuff. ***This is an issue with me. I'll get totally into something and once I move on to something else, I get rid of all of the other stuff and buy everything of the new stuff. THEN, I regret selling it all and I want it all back again!!! It's a sickness I believe!!!

Anyhow, I posted over on another crafting site about what their favorite circle cutter was and someone said CM's. I remember I had them (all the shapes too) and I did like them. I guess I just didn't really know they were still around. :confused3

Just wondering if you still use their products? Is it basically still the same stuff or have they come out with new updated things? Where would I be able to get my hands on a catalog? I'd like to take a peek at their stuff again.

Creative Memories is still around. You can look on their website to find their products and order directly from them or find a consultant near you.

I still use most of the original tools I bought from them. They have branched out into digital as well as traditional scrapbooking. They have also partnered with Provocraft and are selling cartridges that coordinate with their power palletes.

I love that my CM consultant still holds monthly workshops, the ability to bounce ideas off other scrappers is wonderful.

I have used CM products for about 17-18 years. I do love their core products, like albums cutters, etc. I do agree that their circle cutter is the best and you can cut ovals and other shapes too!

I do like that they have partnered with provocraft to bring the use of the Cricut into CM.

Also, I'm not sure if you are aware but their albums are now a true 12x12 size. If its been some time since you've used them you may have used them they were more like 12x11.5. This is a huge improvement! They now offer sleeves in addition to the pages so if you want you use the sleeve and slide your completed 12x12 page in.

Ooohhh, that's something I might be interested in. I've never owned one of their albums because there was never a sleeve. I hated that you just adhered stuff right on the page. Now I'll definately have to check out the site.

I still use the albums. I have a ton left from when I sold it. I ended up buying the pages from J's since they phased out the old style pages and then back in. :confused3

I still have my shape cutters, although I dont use them as much as I used too.

I just ordered some of their new paper and I love it, especially the baby boy stuff. :lovestruc

Love CM stuff and use it a lot. I like that I can have a year long album with different themes, like New Year, 4th of July and Winter but within the same line and it all matches.
I also love their albums, I can literally stuff them, against the judgement of my CMC (LOL), but they hold up.
And I love that their paper is double sided, definitely more bang for the buck! And they have matching Cardstock now!!

I never was a true CM scrapper, but boy! Their tools can't be beat! I'm totally in love with Reminsce and Rugged Paper lines, and they've got a wizard new 'border' punch system.

I'm a former CMC and I still just love the stuff! I love their tools, the best on the market, especially their custom cutting system (which now has templates where you can cut large circles and shaped background papers). I love their side-loading pages, and use them exclusively in my albums. I love their patterned papers and cardstock. The cardstock cuts like a dream in the cricut. Their new line, Reflections, is just beautiful, with paper ribbon that is self-adhesive, and BLING for the first time! I love their rewards club, my shipping is free because of the rewards that I get, and the exclusive products are fun. I love their strap-hinge albums, they are sturdy and pretty.

However, I have my issues with CM. Sometimes I feel that their products are way overpriced. The side loading sleeves are $26.00 for 15...imagine how many top-loading page protectors you can buy for that. And I do not like their straight cutter...it never seemed to cut straight for me. So I guess there's good and bad with every product line, and I will end by saying that my shopping cart has a bunch of stuff in it over on the site and I will pressing the button to purchase soon!

How was it being a consultant with them? Were you a full fledged CMC or could you be more of a "hobby demo" where you just kept up with the minimums and got some good deals on the stuff you wanted? I'm thinking of joining if the price is right and if I can get a few friends/family together to help me out with my minimums. Could you PM me with the details on starting up? Thanks

PS---just wanted to say I like your scrapbook page on your avatar. Cute!!!

Maslex, I know a CMC in your area (Ptnm), if you are interested in talking with her, I could give you her contact information. She holds a crop around the third Saturday of every month if you are interested in seeing the latest tools.:)

Thanks guys!!!

I finally got a hold of a consultant. She's sending out a catalog today as a matter of fact. Can't wait!!! I also booked a party for Saturday, April 28th. Hoping my wish list isn't all that big. ;)

I used to be a hobby CMC (OK, I can easily spend enough on my own:rolleyes1) but now CM has pulled out of the UK :headache:I've found alternatives for most things (and yes, they are cheaper) but not the cartridges for the border maker - I found something which looks very similar, but the cartridges are not compatible. And I have to say, it is a lot more flimsy (but half the price, so....) So now I have to decide whenther to invest in more cartridges for my alternative system, or wait for some of my friends in the box:surfweb: to be coming over here. ;)

Mazda, I am sure I could slip one or two in with your letters if you would like.:rolleyes1 My CMC lives right down the street and I am sure she could get whatever you would like.

Thanks for the compliment...that was actually a challenge page for another website, basically, "here's a list of products and put everyone of them on a layout" - it was super fun and challenging!

I was a "full fledged" CMC for a while, but mostly just hobby. I got to the point where I just couldn't support my habit anymore :) CM does treat their consultants very well. That was honestly the best part, living in MN here and being able to meet all the top people, and they were so nice and really appreciative of the efforts in the field. If you are interested, you should talk to the consultant about it and see if you can work it out.

Have fun at your party!!

I started scrapping at a CM party held in 2000 right before the holidays. At the party that night I bought the starter set (it was $500, and that seemed like an insane amount of money back then and still does today, but honestly, I STILL have some of that stuff and it's in perfect shape!). My most recent CMC left the business and then moved, but she sold all her stock before she left so I got some great stuff and she generously gifted me with the giant rolling cart :goodvibes Now I use Lisa

CM adhesive is awesome, the circle cutter cannot be beat (and I have the old set from 2000 that still works perfectly), I have the old "guillotine" photo cutter and it's still in great shape. The stuff lasts and lasts and that's a testament to how well it's made!

I admit, I use more DCWV and K&Co albums and paper than CM now. I think the quality is fine (not as high quality as CM, though) but the budget just doesn't allow for CM albums for every project. For the "big events" like our wedding album and my first trip to Europe I went with CM because I know it's top quality.

I am a former CMC, too! I love a lot of their stuff, but some of their prices are just so over the top I had a hard time promoting their stuff. Also, now that I'm almost totally digitally scrapbooking, it didn't make sense to stay a CMC (their digital stuff is WAY overpriced!).

Like other people have said, their tools can't be beat, but their prices leave something to be desired. You can always see the stuff on the CM website, you don't have to wait for a physical catalog. They also finally started having sales, so if you watch for those, you can get some decent deals. Also follow Cm on Facebook for some additional deals!

I sold Creative Memories about 8 years ago and same as you moved on to some other products. However I find myself always coming back to them. You can not beat the quality of their albums. I also am overly hooked on their tape runners and cropping tools.
I do agree Jessica, over the years their prices have gotten rather high. I have used all of their Disney albums for books but it was when I was able to buy things at cost. I have a consultant now that "sometimes" gives me a "deal" which is very nice.

I've been using CM stuff for about 10 years. I still use their albums and tape runner and all the tools I have amassed but for paper, stickers, etc I usually buy others.

I'm disappointed that their Disney stuff seems to have disappeared. A few years ago they had several albums, paper packs, stickers and everything but there's nothing now.

I think their licensing agreement expired. Hopefully they can come to an agreement with Disney to renew it! I love their Disney stuff.

I absolutely love all the CM stuff! I used my cutting system at a "lunch-and-crop" at work, and people fell in love with them.

I am definately grateful for being able to buy products at cost, and I love the monthly sales. It is definately they way to go for me. I know that the album I slaved over for hours and hours will stay beautiful for years!
