Who to contact reunion events?

Hello,
I have been lurking for some time. I am ready to work on planning out some special events for an upcoming reunion trip to Disney. I was wondering if I would like to book a private party while we're at Disney, who do I contact? Does that fall into Disney Meetings?

Hi!

We are planning at Sweet 16 Birthday Event to take place this October.

I started by calling the Disney Meetings and Convention Services. Once I finally got in touch with somebody (took a little over a week), and they found out we wanted a Private Party at the Grand Floridian they sent me to the Grand Floridian's Catering and Convention Services.

My Event Manager from there was also able to to book my Dessert Party at Epcot.

I guess what I'm tryingto say is that if you have any idea of the location you would like your event to take place you could contact them directly and cut out the middle man!

I am thinking of doing something at the Animal Kingdom and Epcot. I am not quite sure yet. I may take you up on the offer of the contact numbers.

Actually, I do have one more question...how far out did you contact them? We are looking at planning things for a 2009 trip. I want to get pricing early on so we can plan accordingly since we'll be footing most or all of the bill.

Well, I contacted them about 2 months ago, so approx. 8 months before our event.

We STILL have not worked out all of the details! We're pretty close, but still have a few of the smaller details to work out.

It CAN be a long process if you want to be involved every step of the way.

I would say 1 year out..so June 2008, for any actual planning, BUT, it wouldn't hurt to call and get ballpark figures now.

One of the reasons I was willing to discuss pricing on our event (different thread) was because there a lots of people like you that just want to know if it's something they could ever even think about planning.

Most times people are surprised by how affordable some of the private parties can be! Not cheap...but at least in the realm of possibility!

There is a lady right now over on the Wedding board that is planning events at both Animal Kingdom and Epcot. She also discusses her pricing, so that could give you an idea.

Please keep in mind though that Disney can and does raise prices pretty regualrly, so by 2009 these prices may not be accurate.
It should at least give you an idea though.
