Who stole the condiment bars?

The condiment bars have disappeared (at least in Epcot). We haven't been in 2 years so this was a surprise for me. My son ordered a veggie burger in America last night and it had one tomato on it that was the size of a silver dollar and a 1"x3" piece of shriveled lettuce. I wasn't concerned because he could load it up with veggies at the bar. I was shocked to find nothing but onions, ketchup and mustard. We stopped by the Electric Umbrella and they didn't even have onions. We were very disappointed. Is this how it is in all the parks?

My guess is they got rid of them because people were making a meal off the bars and now the rest off us have to eat plain burgers. I guess I am going to start bringing in my own lettuce, tomatoes and pickles now. :rotfl2:

Oh my gosh, they were there in Dec. I really like extra lettuce and tomato on my burgers.

:santa::santa::santa:

Maybe they are taking them away because people have been making salads from them free of charge??

I know Peco Bills had it in Nov.....

This past week, we saw the regular full topping bars at Cosmic Ray's & Pecos Bill's in MK (our fave), and Restaurantosaurus in AK. Only CS we eat in Epcot is Sunshine Seasons so can't comment on that park.

My husband and I were there a little over a week ago; they still had a full bar at pecos bill's and at pirata y perico

The only full toppings bar we have ever seen were at MK. At the other 3, it was your basic ketchup, mustard, etc...

Until this weekend, it had been 2 years since we were in any of the Disney parks. I know for a fact that two years ago America had a full topping bar.
They still have the same set up but they only had onions out. There weren't any empty containers or remnants of lettuce or pickles to indicate that they had just run out. This was around 4PM so they weren't about to close and hadn't just opened.

I am 99% sure that The Electric Umbrella also had a toppings bar in the past. This time they had an entirely different setup. The two stations that were available were completely remodeled. There wasn't any space for buckets of lettuce, tomatoes. etc. It was strictly set up for ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, napkins and plastic forks.

No grilled onions or mushrooms either! That is the only way to flavor the dried out burgers they had 2 years ago. Have they changed the burger patties?

Oh! That was in MK :confused3

none of the epcot CS had the the full topping bars like those in MK do, or not since my first time in 2000... they basically had ketchup, mustard, pickles, and sometimes onions, but never had the full ones like MK.

They definitely included lettuce and tomatoes plus the pickles and onions. Now they seem to have nothing or just onions.

I concur. The one at Liberty Inn in September had ketchup, mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, and pickle relish. I remember the relish because I almost put it on my burger before realizing it wasn't green chile (a standard burger topping here in New Mexico). Restaurantosaurus had the same, plus grilled mushrooms.

LisaR and MickeyNicki may be on the right track.
I recall some earlier threads about condiment/fixins bars disappearing because people were not bothering to pay for a meal but were using the fixins bars AS their meal--putting everything they could lay their hands on in their tray-- eating that-- THEN going so far as to load up even more to carry out.

I can't even imagine that.. Crazy! It always seems like someone has to ruin it for the bunch. I do hope that some of the "fixin's" are there when we visit. I would hate to just have ketchup and mustard!

Liberty Inn still had all those toppings when I was there on Janaury 8th.

They most definitely had a full toppings bar in America in mid 2008.

That's ridiculous though. Even say some people make a salad, how much does the lettuce and tomato and stuff cost when you're paying like $9 for a burger and fries? There couldn't have been that many people doing it... :confused3

Do they include that stuff in your tray then or do you just eat a "naked" burger? I like toppings, I'll be there in 2 weeks so I guess I'll find out soon enough...
