Who said daytime security at DTD was a cake job?

Look It was late!
Actully I thought it was pretty good.
On topic - with a popular cultural reference. :snooty:

Where's yours - back seat critic.

I loved those old Micky D's commercials :lovestruc
hamburglar.jpg

I thought it was hilarious.

he looks like Howdy Doody in a Hamburglar costume!!! :lmao:

As a kid I used to crack up every time the Hamburglar "spoke".

"rubble, rubble, rubble" :rotfl2:

I remember all of those characters. And I remember when McDonald's Play Land had all of their equipment modeled after them. Back in those days it was RARE for McDonald's to have a play area.

Who were the originals? Grimace, Mayor McCheese, Hamburglar, what was the name of the other one? The one who dressed like a police officer? Birdie the Early Bird was introduced later to promote breakfast. Then there were the Fry Guys. Ah, memories. The good old days. :cloud9:

EDIT: Found it. Officer Big Mac.

I was driving down the road the other day and I saw in someone's yard (granted this was out in the country and they also had several appliances and cars on blocks) one of those old playground things that you climbed inside at McD's, laying on it's side. I think that was Officer Big Mac. I was trying to remember what ever seemed fun about that, but for the life of me, I couldn't figure it out.

:scared1:
Do you think it might be?
Could it be?
Dare I sat it?

The hamburgaler!!!

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Wally you're the best:rotfl2:

Was this hamburglar guy, like, um, from the 80's or something? :confused3 I mean I was BORN in the 80's :rolleyes1 so I don't really remember this guy...

Oh! I am in soooo much trouble now....

You sad unclutured baby:sad2:--you have no idea all the good things you have missed out on:rolleyes1

By the time McDonald's playgrounds were gaining popularity I was really too old for them. I thought the rocking things on the giant springs were kind of fun.

And lets not forget Burger Chef and his "friend" Jeff! :rolleyes1

I vaguely remember going to a Burger Chef when we lived in Pueblo, Colorado (which would have made it sometime before 1977). I don't remember anything about Jeff, though.:confused3

Any one remember this?

McDonald's is that kind of place
hamburgers in your face
french fries up your nose
pickles between your toes
and don't forget those chocolate shakes
taste like poluted lakes
McDonald's is that kind of place
:rotfl:

Jeff was the sidekick. ;)
Prior to 1977 is right - I was thinking 1974-75. My mom would remember for sure.

Never heard that one! :rotfl2: Did Burger King write that?

Bugger King, pick a whopper today!

McDonalds: Home of the golden starches.

The Big Mac

Two all beef patties, specail sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles on a sesame seed bun .... and that was from memory!!! :cool1:

I don't know why but it WAS fun:confused3 I seem to remember basically being in a big metal cage elevated off the ground (it was his hamburger "head" with bars between the buns I think:rotfl2:).
Found it! :thumbsup2
Wooow Flash back!!!!!!

This guy has it all..

Also I thought I remembered a different looking Hamburglar
hamburglar-1.jpg
I have NO memory of this creepy version:eek: Probably blocked it.

I remember when they first introduced Chicken McNuggets.

"Oooh, McNuggets! McDonald's new McNuggets! A McNugget is a tender piece of boneless breast of chicken, with 4 kinds of sauces made especially for dippin'. Ooooh, McNuggets!" :rotfl2:

They used to have dark meat nuggets that were way yummier than the white meat ones. With sweet & sour sauce.

Which restaurant had that thing about "Parts is parts?" They were promoting their own chicken nuggets as being whole pieces of chicken instead of compressed pieces.

My fav BK Slogan was...
"It takes two hands to handle a Whopper"

Nor sure why I like it?
:rolleyes1

:rolleyes1

I'm a Burger King Yumbo, a hot Ham and Cheese...

A Burger King Yumbo, I'm here to please.....

And boy was it good! :thumbsup2

I remember Parts is Parts and It takes two hands to handle a Whopper but have no idea about the Burger King Yumbo.

I very clearly remember when we got a Wendys in Boulder. Huge lines for about a year there. I was always trying to convince my parents that it was okay to order a baked potato with fries on the side:rotfl:

Here is one even Jenn should remember: "This is Pete, Wake up Pete!" That was from when Taco Bell was starting the late night/all night drive thru concept in teh early 90s.
