Who Remembers these restaurants?

After our wedding we ate at Flaglers in GF. They had a guy who roamed around the tables playing the accoridan. DH had him play "It had to be you". :love2:

We really miss that one since it had since special memories.

We were also married in 96 and we went to Flagler's for dinner on our honeymoon at the GF. When we were there they had a violinist. It was so beautiful and relaxing.

I remember, and yes it was a long time ago, when I was young, at the Adventureland Verandah, getting a hot dog with a polynesian sweet and sour sauce on it, YUMMMMMMYYYYYY....never will forget how good it was!
More recently, I miss the lack of fast food choices at EPCOT, especially Pasta Piazza, was an excellent place for a mickey shaped pizza for the kids and a plate of spaghetti for myself! Now the Land Food Court I hear is diminished to something new and very small choices? Not to mention the Tomorrowland Terrace I think it was called, which also had great pizzas for the kids and subs, now is the Noodle restaurant? I can honestly say I won't be trying that, does not appeal to me.If I want to try different things, I go to World Showcase!!! haha...
Lastly, I remember the Top of the World restaurant on the top of the Contemporary, they had a great breakfast buffet and the chef would make fresh mickey mouse shaped pancakes for you....ohhhhh the good ole days!!!!

where was the character breakfast in the poly where mickey and miinnie dressed up in hawaii type clothes .i remember chip and dale pushing my daughters all over the rest. in the rolling chairs ( they had wheels on the bottom of the chairs) and husband almost fainted when he say the enourmous buffet ( start of a long love of brekfast buffets for him)

I remember that one! It was the first character meal we went to on our first visit to WDW. I think it was called Minnie's Menehuene, and I think it was in Papeete Bay Veranda. I'm looking at the pictues now-both Chip and Dale have their leis around their waists.

Simba's Mom

I still have my button from there (I had breakfast with Minnie). It was our first trip. DD was 5 and DS was 8. DD will be going off to college in four days and DS is moving about three hours away in three weeks.

We had a special meal at the Empress Room during our honeymoon in 1994. Another favorite was Bonfamille's. Every time we plan another trip, we get sad thinking about Bonfamille's.

Sunshine tree terrace is still there. That's where you can get citrus swirls, right outside Tiki Birds.

Only now it's called Aloha Isle.

I'm loving this thread! My first (and only) character meal was on the Empress Lilly in 1987 when I was 11 years old! And I also remember a special meal my family had at the Odyssey restaurant at Epcot. And I remember getting The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies EVER at the little place run by Nestle over by Liberty Square, I think.
Fun memories!

I ate in the Empress Lily when I was there for the first time with my parents in 1989, I was 15. Ariels now is used for private, catered events in the BC.

Sunshine Tree Terrace is not Aloha Isle. Aloha Isle is where you get dole whips. Sunshine tree is where you get citrus swirls. It's at the exit for Tiki Birds.

Thanks for clarifying! I was confused.

Oh, yes, this thread brings back some great memories. Tangaroa Terrace, Steerman's Quarters (and the Baton Rouge Lounge), the Lake Buena Vista Club (great Sunday brunch) were among our favorites at the time. And the Pueblo Room had the best burgers in WDW!

I remember Chef Mickey's at Downtown Disney. And didn't Crystal Palace used to be something else? A counter servie place mostly?

There was a Minnie Mia's where Wolfgang Express is at DtD, Goofy's Grill (Ghiradelli), Donald's Dairy Dip ... I think that is the Lego Store now.

That was Minnie Mia Pizza and I can recall the horrendous breath my husband and I endured two days later on our honeymoon 15 years ago. We still laugh about that meal but, boy it was great pizza!

On our last day, just before getting on our plane we ate at the Fireworks Factory and my husband doesn't tolerate spicy foods at all and despite trying to choose the mildest option, he ate a steak sandwich and needless to say he was in major agony in the middle of our flight home. He was not a happy boy!
We also ate at the Empress Lily and Chef Mickeys too! All long gone as well as the Club Suite Villas (wish they still had them) where we stayed just a short walk away. We had a wonderful honeymoon and I thought I was a world away as it was first trip off the farm!!!

Needless to say that was start of our annual trips back to Disney.

My family has pictures of us at Empress Lilly when I was a little girl. My parents still say that was by far the best resturant they can remember way back then. They ate a Fultons Crab House last summer and said it wasn't the same.

blech---I hated the fireworks factory. It was then replaced by the wildhorse and is now a top 40 club.

Bonfamiles (sp.) at Port Orleans. Great Cajun food...especially the mud puppies!

BonFamilles is one of my best WDW memories. DH and I got engaged the day before. We went there that night or for my birthday. Our server said that I looked unusually happy that night and asked what was up. We announced our engagement and my birthday and she was so happy for us.

Later into the meal the host came out and announced there were three very separate, but similar celebrations happening there that night.

The first- a couple celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The second- a couple on their honeymoon. The last- us :-)

The servers came out with cakes w/sparklers and champagne for each of the couples. The whole restaurant was clapping and cheering and we couples offered each other our best.

It was such a cool night. I was so disappointed to hear the restaurant closed down because I wanted to go back just for the memories and to show DD.

Ha! Someone with whom I just lunched, during a Disney discussion, mentioned the Pompano Grill and Coconino Cove!

Anyone remember Girgi's Crunchings and Munchings? Where in Fantasyland was it?

(Girgi was in the Black Cauldron for those curious)

I remember Fireworks Factory. DH & I ate there in 1993 before we started our fun filled evening at Pleasure Island!

Only now it's called Aloha Isle.

And I remember getting The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies EVER at the little place run by Nestle over by Liberty Square, I think.
Fun memories!

This is still there and the cookies are great as ever - its called Sleepy Hollow! You can also get funnel cake and carmel corn there!
