I've been buying the episodes on DVD. I've got the Sonny Steelgrave and Mel Profitt arc. I remember staying up late when I was in high school to watch the show.

I've been watching the special features on the Mel Profitt collection. They're good. Even after 15 years, Joan Severance is still hot! Man, oh, man... :)

"Only the toes knows!" What the heck did that mean? :)

Shanon,
It was Ken Wahl - who is now married to one of the Barbie Twins. Kevin Spacey was Joan Severance's sister - remember how they set his body on fire and it drifted out to sea??

I can't remember what "only the toes know" meant.

I used to watch it. I even remembered getting a 'Wiseguy' t-shirt at either Disney/MGM or Universal way back when. I wore it till it wore out. =0)

Ok, thanks Pam.:) I think I was thinking of Jake and the Fat Man. I think both of those shows were on about the same time. I get those 2 shows confused sometimes.:o

Kevin Spacey was somebody's sister?

Kevin Spacey was somebody's sister?

Oops!! :o Her BROTHER, he was her brother on the show! But it was a very creepy relationship.....

Jake and the Fatman - I watched that one, too! :)

We used to watch Wiseguy, Barry! Great show, and Ken Wahl was pretty easy on the eyes. :D

I've been trying to find a pic of him from his Wiseguy days, but haven't been able to come up with anything.

I watched that show. Didn't he get fed up and quit. Didn't that have the guy in the wheelchair in it? (its been awhile)
Or was that the show someone got killed from the pistol with blanks??

I remember Ken Wahl reallllllllly well (ooh la la!), although I can't say I remember much of the show. :p

Vinnie Terranova (aka Ken Wahl) was very easy on the eyes!

That was one of our favorite shows back in the late 80's. I loved Vinnie and Roger LaCocco together, and the episode where Roger finally comes back after being gone for many episodes and says "What's up Buckwheat" or something to that effect!

Great series, Stephen Cannell sure used to write the good ones! I have all the Wiseguy episodes on VHS, but I haven't watched them in ages. The quality is probably shot by now!

I also liked the season where Vinnie got involved in the music industry "Dead Dog Records!" Anyone remember that?

Tim Curry, Blondie, Glenn Frey, and a few others were in those episodes!

From what I remember, Ken Wahl was (or maybe still is) very hard to work with and was very demanding. He was pretty much blackballed due to his nastiness.

Didn't Ken Wahl work with Bette Midler in some movie??? The Rose, possibly? I remember reading an article that those two hated one another, that he was more of a diva than she was. Perhaps that is why he was blackballed.

Snoopy, I don't remember him being in The Rose....was he? Maybe he had a small part?

I did a quick check on his bio and here are the movies that were listed:

• The Favor (1994)

• The Taking of Beverly Hills (1991)

• The Gladiator (1986)

• Omega Syndrome (1986)

• Dirty Dozen, The - The Next Mission (1985)

• Purple Hearts (1984)

• Jinxed (1982)

• The Soldier (1982)

• Fort Apache, the Bronx (1981)

• Treasure of the Yankee Zephyr (1981)

• The Wanderers (1979)

Now? Kind of reminds me of David Caruso, and how he thought HE was Hot Sh** holding out for more money and look what happened to him! Of course, him being on CSI Miami has helped a lot!:o

Blondie, apparently it was the movie Jinxed. Here is an article I found on their notorious feud. Apparently he was not the only one who found her hard to work with. It figures, when its a woman, she's a witch with a b, when its a guy, he's macho  :

Jim Byrnes played Dan 'Lifeguard' Burrows, the guy in the wheelchair. He also played Joe Dawson on the syndicated Highlander series.
From Internet Movie Data Base...
"Born on September 22, 1948, Jim Byrnes grew up in St. Louis, the middle child of a middle class family. He learned to play blues guitar at age 13-- and continues to play on his favorite guitar, a Gibson 1969 Hummingbird. An eclectic individual, he studied for the priest hood in a seminary, and was even a professional shepherd at one point. He studied acting at Boston University and St.Louis University. Byrnes is a gifted actor and an inspiring individual. He lost both his legs in an automobile accident Feb. 26, 1972-- the same day he landed his pivotal "Wiseguy" role as Lifeguard fifteen years later."

Mel's sister would shoot him up with drugs through his toes so the needle tracks wouldn't show. ICK!

My hubby and I loved this show.

You may be thinking of "Cover Up" with Jon-Erik Hexum. Anyone else remember him from the early 80's Sci-Fi/fantasy series "Voyagers"?

As for Wiseguy...I only watched the first storyline with Sonny which was very good.

Were the others enjoyable? I always wondered about the Tim Curry one.
