Who remembers the pink powder soap?

Okay, so of all places I know I can share this here and have people understand where I'm coming from...

Before our trip last summer (my fiance's first), I was sharing some of my Disney memories with him. I was SO disappointed when we arrived and I used the bathrooms at the parks...No pink powder soap! That was one of the things I had told him about...

I miss it. It was so gritty and you had to push the silver metal bar up to get the powder to drop into your hand. After you rinsed it off, your hands felt oh so smooth!

So I know this is totally weird...does anyone else miss the pink powder soap?

Yes! I remember it as well. To be honest, I hated it. Yuck. Always felt like I was washing my hands with sand.

I, too, remember it - ugh While on the subject DD was just going thru the pictures of our trip last week and looked at me as if I had grown 3 heads! She wanted to know why I had taken the last picture. It was of the sign you see over every bathroom sink in Disney. Explicit directions on how you need to wet hands, add soap and rinse. I know with all the viruses around we are all much more mindful about washing, just didn't know we had to be told how to do it! After looking at those signs for 10 days I just had to take a picture, what can I say.

yes, I remember it too. That was also the kind of soap found in school bathrooms when I was a child.

This was the same soap we had at my elementary school back in the '60s, so it was one of the many reasons I felt like a kid again at WDW!

Yup, I remember that soap. I remember eating at 50s Prime Time Cafe and the servers asking people who had gone to the restroom to describe the soap to ensure they had washed their hands before returning to the table.

Umm that wasn't something special for disney lol. That was used all over the country in restrooms but if it makes you happy you can think it was just for disney

Can't say that was something I remember from going to Disney. Since it is a highlight maybe I have a picture of it somewhere.....

Read PP's that state that they had this powder elsewhere.... I suppose not anywhere that I remember other than WDW....so I do find this to be a Disney Memory as well !

And because it is a Disney Memory...it is one I love and Cherish !

I remember always using too much, took forever to get it all off. The soap would get anything you had on your hands off though.

I miss the juice that was in the plastic bottles shaped like fruit. The OJ was awesome.

Gosh, I remember that stuff too! I guess I'm young enough that Disney is the only place that still had that stuff. I loved it! I want it back!

I too loved the pink powder soap...we didn't seem to have that in the northeast at all. I loved how your hands felt afterwards. I liked that at 50's Primetime they would ask you about it as well just to check if you washed your hands...so funny!

I took a pic once of the sign that say's "Bolso" on the back of the bathroom door (I assume spanish for handbag/purse?) I noticed it was always on the bathroom doors, especially in Epcot. I don't know why but it always makes me feel like "HEY I'm back at DISNEY!!!" Apparently I'm a weirdo but we do not have that sign in the northeast in restrooms!
