Who remembers the pink powder soap?

AWE!

Memories! ♪♫♪♫:rolleyes1

Read PP's that state that they had this powder elsewhere.... I suppose not anywhere that I remember other than WDW....so I do find this to be a Disney Memory as well !

And because it is a Disney Memory...it is one I love and Cherish !:lovestruc

Thanks OP for reminding me !:goodvibes

Hugs,
Mary

:thumbsup2 I think some people just like to rain on other's parades! Disney is the only place I remember it, too. So yes...it is one of the things that makes up my Disney memories from when I was younger. Thanks for understanding!

ooooo - I remember that - I LOVED that stuff!!

Don't miss the paper straws though - they were VILE

Yep, I remember the pink soap;) and the fruit shaped containers of juice too! It's a peculiar thing how a little detail or two can become a big memory and return you at once to that certain place and feeling. Thanks for the memories previous posters:thumbsup2

They took the powdered soaps out after 9/11. I don't miss it really.

Yup, I remember that soap. I remember eating at 50s Prime Time Cafe and the servers asking people who had gone to the restroom to describe the soap to ensure they had washed their hands before returning to the table.
They still do that, but the answer now is blue (or green, I don't remember...)

I remember the pink powder soap. It was in many places, back in the day...

I don't miss it.

If the dopey signs with instructions on how to wash your hands disappear, I won't miss those, either.

Noooo, don't discard those signs! What if I forget how to wash my hands? Remember that scene from "Airplane" where Robert Hays had a drinking problem?

I loved that soap too-great exfoliant! You really knew your hands were clean after that!

I miss the fruit juice in the plastic fruit-that was fun.

I remember the juice in the plastic fruits from growing up near Disneyland! The powder soap was the same as we had in my elementary school, so it didn't seem special or "Disney" to me - but I am surprised they had it so late at WDW.

I remember the soap! Disney was the only place I remember ever using it!

Were those juice containers plastic? I had some of those! We used to bring them back so I could drink from them at home...I thought I got them at Busch Gardens but maybe it was Disney! Thanks for the memories :)

Okay, so of all places I know I can share this here and have people understand where I'm coming from...

Before our trip last summer (my fiance's first), I was sharing some of my Disney memories with him. I was SO disappointed when we arrived and I used the bathrooms at the parks...No pink powder soap! That was one of the things I had told him about...

I miss it. It was so gritty and you had to push the silver metal bar up to get the powder to drop into your hand. After you rinsed it off, your hands felt oh so smooth!

So I know this is totally weird...does anyone else miss the pink powder soap?

Thanks for the memory refresher. I liked that soap. Well the way it made my hands feel anyway.

OH! HEAVENS YES! The minute they remove those signs..are probably going to be the time that I need them the most!:lmao:

I'm not getting any younger! LOL!:rotfl:

DEFINITELY remember that scene from Airplane...trying hard not to duplicate it RIGHT NOW...

Pink Powdered Soap... Plastic Fruit shaped Drinks... (I had the Orange!) :lovestruc

Wish I could remember something to ADD... I do remember "Mickey Shaped Butter" but they probably still do that somewhere....

Mary

i loved that soap too! i was really disappointed when it wasn't there anymore. so reminds me of disney. hubby didn't know what i was talking about since he didn't go as a kid.

and i so remember the plastic fruit! i wanna say i had grape and orange ones. my mom saved them and i use to play with them at home all the time. i wish i still had them!

I remember having the pink soap at school. Out or curiousity I goggled it and found Pink Luron Hand Soap Powder with Lanolin Skin Conditioner which manufactured by Dial. It seems to still be available in 5 pound boxes by the case(10 boxes).

OMG I saw this post and got sooooo excited! I thought I was the only one. I was a kid when they had the soap and so my mom or grandmother always helped me wash my hands. I could barely reach so they would extend my hand in theirs and help me push up the little nob before washing. I remember I always thought man I can't wait until I'm older and I can put a ton on my hand and play with it and rub it as long as I want on my hands before I wash it out. Of course to my disappointment they got rid of it by that point. I'll never forget that trip either we got to the TTC and I of course wanted to go to the bathroom ;) I get there and go to excitedly wash my hands and my powder was gone :confused3 so I thought maybe it's just here...god knows how many bathrooms I went to before I finally gave up and admitted it was gone....now my mom and I crack up about it and I tell my husband all about it because he doesn't remember it as he rarely went to Disney and I always went twice a year....

LOL I gave up after numerous bathrooms too! My fiance never went to Disney as a kid so I'm sure he though his 30 year old fiance was so crazy looking for powder soap in public bathrooms!

I remember the pink powder soap - wasn't it pixie dust? ;)

Gotta love when you can wash and exfoliate at the same time!

I remember it too! I agree with the poster that said it feels like you were washing your hands with sand. I remember it, but didn't like it.
