I'm looking for any information on above ground pools at my Mom's request! If you have one, do you like it? Where did you get it? Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

we owned a "soft pool" brand above ground. it was a great pool but a major pain to clean when taken down for storage puposes.

the main reason i would opt against an above ground in the future is unless you are realy good at determining the chemicals and dedicated to staying on top of administering them they are a pain to keep clean (i would prefer to use a pool service and there are none in our area that will touch an above ground).

We have an above ground pool and LOVE it! I think an above ground pool is much better for kids, more to do than an inground pool.

What ever you do, research the company you buy it from. We did just and everything turned out great. Our neighbors had another company install thier pool and have had problems.

Good Luck and have fun!!

We have one. Do we like it? Well, its a lot of work to keep it clean, but in the New England heat and humidity it comes in handy. :sunny: The only problem is that we only use the pool maybe three-possibly four months out of the year. We also built an attached deck to make getting in & out easier. We bought ours from NAMCO, I don't know if there are national?

and we LOVE it!! Ours is a 24 ft round surrounded by a deck. Only one way to the pool, thru the house. You can't get to the pool from the backyard as we have built up ground around it to make it level with deck. This is great for safety and for keeping grass and dirt out of the pool. One suggestion is a patterned liner as the solid color shows every speck in the pool. We also dug out the middle to make the pool 5 ft deep in the middle and 4 ft around the outsides. We also limit or not allow anyone to jump in the pool from the deck, not safe as well as weakens the walls. Depending on where you are a solar cover or heater extends the swimming season. Good Luck!

We have an above ground pool and love it - I wish we had more months to enjoy it! We purchased it from a pool place in our area. It has actually been pretty easy to keep clean.

We have one and love it! It's really easy to keep clean, no harder than a inground really. We have a Sharkline Sharkline and would recommend it to anyone. We built a wood deck from our house and all the way around and it's great, we even have a screened in gazebo right on the deck that we sit in on warm summer nights. My only regret is that we don't have warm months to use it more.

We got a great pool from a Canadian based company called Aqua Leader. They distribute their products here in the US.

We have had the pool now for FIFTEEN YEARS, with only a minor problem or two during all that time. It even has the same liner. The pool is outstanding because it is build of RESIN and not aluminum/steel that can corrode and become ugly. The pool looks exactly as it did when we had it installed.

We had the pool dug into the ground so that only about 3 feet of it is above ground. This allowed us to build a deck from our dining room sliders over to the pool. It also is much easier to clean when you don't have to bend over so far to reach into the pool to clean it.

If you want pix of our pool, please pm me.
