My DD, her DH, and my granddaughter will come on Christmas Eve instead of Christmas Day, so we'll be opening our gifts then..

Anyone else? :)

When we were kids we used to go to church at night on Christmas Eve. Mom would always "forget" her gloves. We would come home and the presents would be there. :)

Now with DD we do it on Christmas morning. We need Christmas Eve to put Santa's presents together. :)

We open some gifts on Christmas Eve, when family members or friends come over or we go to visit them we will open their gifts to us and they open our gifts to them. Immediate family gifts are opened on Christmas Day. Also, if a package comes in the mail you better put a "DO NOT OPEN UNTIL CHRISTMAS" tag on it because it will be opened that day otherwise. :teeth:

We open our family presents on Christmas Eve and Santa presents on Christmas day. When our 5 year old get older we will probably split up some of the presents or Santa may just keep coming :)

I forgot to add that we do open our new PJ's Christmas Eve. That we have new Pajamas to wear to bed that night. :)

We open our presents Christmas Eve. When I was growing up SAnta would visit while we were out church. With DD Santa visits Christmas Eve night and she opens her presents from Santa Christmas morning.

I go to my boyfriends house Christmas Eve where we all open presents except for those my boyfriend and I have for eachother (Me, Him, His mother, and grandmother). Christmas day is for my family and boyfriend.

Our DS's give presents to each other on Christmas Eve. They put a lot of time and effort into shopping for each other and we want to make sure those presents are appreciated and not lost in the crowd.

Always only ever been Christmas Day for us

Rule here is open 1 present on Christmas eve. The rest is on Christmas day.

We have always opened our gifts at midnight, Christmas Eve, which is technically Christmas Day!

We usually do ours(DH, myself, the kids) on Christmas Eve while we are waiting for our company to arrive.

We've open presents on Christmas Eve since I was a little kid. And Santa left presents under the tree for Christmas morning...his were unwrapped, of course. ;)

We got to my moms house on Xmas Eve, with all family..aunts/uncles/cousins/grandparents etc.... this started back when my brother was born..he was the first grandchild, so everyone would get together at my parents, then go to the inlaws on xmas day.

This works great because then everyone is home christmas day to open presents with just immediate family.

Now with DH's parents divorced, DFIL comes over on xmas morning, usually AFTER they are done...but I can't make them wait!!!....

We do spend xmas day- at MIL's...usually we eat at 3pm or so, then open presents with that side then, the BILS, cousins etc..My family eats Christmas dinner at my aunts, next door to my mom around noon- but we dont go to that.

Luckily for both of us, all of our families are within 20 minutes of eachother...(cept for 2 uncles in Montana, and an Aunt in Texas)...but out of 9 kids- 6 of my mom's siblings are here..with all their kids too!

BIG PARTY!!

The kids open on Christmas morning...

Once the kids came along my DH and I started exchanging our gifts to eachother on Christmas Eve. It's quiet and we can enjoy our time together. Then we can focus on letting the kids have their time on Christmas morning. We do save 1 gift to eachother for the morning plus the presents to us from the kids (school art/projects).

We open our gifts Christmas afternoon. We have our big dinner about 1 p.m. and then the dishes are done. After that we open gifts one at a time. I grew up that way, my kids have grown up that way and now my dgrdd's are growing up that way. My kids have always said that when people say their kids can't wait is silly. Of course they can wait. The kids say that, that makes Christmas because of the anticipation. One year they decided to open them Christmas morning just like their friends. We did. Then decided after that, that they would never do that again. They hated it. I guess it's just what you are used to.

They open gifts with me Christmas Morning/Day.
