Who needs to have an AP to check in

I made a ressie with the AP discount, and I was wondering WHO needs to have the AP? Can it be just the child? I'm just trying to save $$. Has anyone checked in with only thier child having the AP and not the adult?

The person who is making the reservation in their name is the one who is supposed to have the AP. I would think that you cannot make a reservation in a child's name, so the adult would need to have the AP... That being said, I made my ressie for a September trip with an AP which I purchased upon my arrival at the Disney Magic store at MCO. When I checked into PC, I was never asked to show my AP, even after the castmember mentioned that I was checking in with an AP rate...I wouldn't suggest trying to check in without the AP in my own name. You could end up being turned down and charged full rate for your room....Yikes!!!

Thank you for your reply. I changed my ressie to the BAS code instead. No need for an AP now!

I have found (and I hope this is your case) that the public codes are not that much more than the AP codes, unless you are booking at one of the really expensive resorts. If I had known at the time that I would be changing my upcoming AKL-Savannah View room to PC, I would not have purchased the AP.....Wish I knew then what I know now......Luckily with the number of days I used it for park entry, I should break even....Whew!! What a numbers game we have to play with these trips!

Tell me about it! IT's alot of work trying to find the cheapest way to go! And then thinking, is this the right thing to do.

But I think the more we do this, the better we get! Some day I hope I can be a pro, and give good advice. But for now, I am still asking the ?'s.

For me it would have been $120 more to use the room only code versus the AP. We were going to buy 6 day passes anyway so the AP is only $125 more then the 6 day park hopper plus so we figured might as well buy the AP
