My youngest daughters first Dance Recital- actually from the dress rehearsal last night- since no cameras allowed at the real thing tonight. I'm not crazy about the eye make-up but that's how they had all the kids.

More are HERE on my Flickr site if anyone wants to see.

Love the thread title ;)

Great shots as usual, 4 is my favorite---so cute!

She looks adorable Jeff!! I will have to show Jenny, she'll love them. :thumbsup2

And dad is already dissing the makeup. Particularly for Lauren, Jeff, you better get used to it!

They look great!

What kind of draconian rule is this? Aren't these recitals created for parents to lots and lots of photos?

all cute photos... but don't get the makeup either :confused3 especially since they don't let you take photos why the concern for their faces to show up and ita with rtphokie
...at granddaughter's preschool graduation, they had each graduate pose for a min or two after they got their diploma so parents could take all the photos they wanted. these kind of occasions are the only ones some even own a camera for :)

I kind of agree but kind of understand their position also. The even interrupted the performance a few times last night to 'call out' some rule breakers (not me ) from the 'booth'. I think for the most part it's because a lot of people don't know how to turn off the flash and don't know how to turn off the LCD screen and it is a huge annoyance if you happen to be right behind one of those folks. At rehearsal I sat behind two women taking pictures- one with a P&S and the other a dslr kit w/ a pop-up flash. I watched them both take hundreds of pictures- constant flash bulbs going off- the dslr shots looking hardly any better than the P&S- they were both so dark you could hardly see anything- but they kept on and on. As strange as it sounds I am kind of glad that is not going on x100 on performance night. I just enjoyed the show. :goodvibes

I love your shots. My DD's recital is today. What song did she dance too. She has alot of the same moves my DD is doing. So cute.

We have the same rules as did the one my Sisters DD was in on Friday. They record a DVD to "buy" (though I may try to record with my P&S today :rolleyes1,I did preorder the DVD though) And they are selling professional pictures as well. but I do think the main thing is the flash. Most people don,t get that the flash will NOTHING for them that far back.
I do hope to get some cute "pre and post" shots though, but thats when she won't cooperate. She just knows I want them and will make faces. LOL!
