She's only 11 and placed 1st in a caller vote in competition on PAX in January.
ETA: found the website for that--with over 13 million votes...she had twice as many as the 2nd place finisher. http://www.usatvbroadcast.com/. Last year she also won a Radio Disney competition as part of the group Sunsations (sp?).
She's AWESOME--no American Idol competition in her future--they have her on the road to stardom already.
She has opened for major acts.
Her producer/songwriter and her were just up in boston working with someone famous on her new album (the guy who sings raps a song with the line...."New Kids on the block had a bunch of hits, chinese food makes me sick"--whatever his name is..sorry for butchering the line).
She goes to our church and is in the parochial school and sang tonight at our Festival. We heard her last year--she sang the song "Butterfly" which has played on radio in Orlando. She sang a bunch of songs tonight. She's a cutie and has very good stage presence and a great voice. And she's classically trained as well.
We do not know her personally...but friends of mine do and say she is such a sweetheart!
