Who needs a good LAUGH!

Oh, do I feel your pain! On our family trip this May I was brought to tears by breakfast at Chef Mickeys. I had ADRs for just my family (4), the day before my husband asked his parents if they wanted to join us, I grabbed the phone and was able to change the ADR from 4 to 6... wow was I happy! Then just before dinner my husband asked his brother if his family wanted to join us:scared1: Mike said he and his daughter would, but not his wife....so once again I grab the phone, call Chef Mickeys directly and beg them to add 2 more to our ADR...The CM must have heard the desperation in my voice because she added them! Whooowhooo, saved again...or so I thought, after the Luau that night (a whole other story) my sister in law informed me that she had decided to join us for breakfast:scared1: :scared1: At that point I sort of lost it and yelled at them all that I had given everyone a written agenda in Feb. and asked them to make any changes at that time, did they all think that I was kidding them about having to have reservations:confused3 They all thought I was being a bit witchey, but they had no idea of how absurd there requests were! That being said I was able to pull it off, but only because I'm a very sweet and persuasive person (and I cried and told the CM my whole sad story)

:rotfl:
Ok we are headed to WDW in 37 days. It's Me, DH, DD (6), Cousin, and her Son (5).
So I made all our ADR's back in May.

So she says... ready for your laugh...:lmao: let's change up some of our ADR's while we still have time to do it. We're far enough away we won't have any problems! :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: She wants me to get LTT the night of MNSSHP, Ohana's for Breakfast, CM for dinner, and MM for the Fantasmic package. But the kicker is they all have NO room to play. They all have to be at a certain time on a certain day.
Please tell me someone feels my pain:sick: :headache: :scared: :sad2:
Thanks for listening to me rant I feel much better!

Thank goodness I'm still on my HIGH from just paying off our trip :cheer2:

Oh, this is a good one. We ARE not planners in my family, we like a fluid plan!

But we are going in Jan with cousins, who have little girls, and may be wanting to do Princess Dining of some sort. And I have warned her, she REALLY needs to decide and make ADRs NOW!

oh! do be careful. . .she could change your ressies with only your phone number and name!!!!!!!!! make sure when you speak with her that she is using her name, her phone number, and getting her own ADR's. you can always cancel any doubles later on!

I feel your pain as my DH refuses to believe you really can not just walk up and wait a bit and eventually get in. . .ugh. And he doesn't want to decide until we het there until we will be resort hopping, pool hangin' or using up a day on an old pass to get in a park for our no kids trip of 4 days :sad2:

currently I have ADR's a couple different places and will cancel others when he makes up his mind!

My fiance was the same way before his first trip this June (the one with the friends that didn't like the plan)

He didn't understand why I called Disney Disney at 7am on Dec 25 (we were already up at 6am anyway thanks to his parents' dogs - the golden will jump on the pull out couch at like 5:45am b/c he wants our attention then and now)

After the trip, he was thankful for all the planning I did and the dining reservations I made. He's happy in the fact that he's excited about my planning with our upcoming trip in February - although he doesn't like hearing about it too much. Only thing he requested was a return to Le Cellier sometime and California Grill on 2/14

I feel sooo bad for you! I guess some people must learn the hard way. At least you are taking it all in stride. I would be freaking out!

When we had our last trip in April I made a very detailed plan for us and my in-laws, who have not been to the World in over 20 years. They all made fun of me for weeks leading up to the trip about how neurotic I am with the planning! Then when we got there and everything went off without a hitch (I was unaware that the whole off New England would be on Spring Break, but we still saw and did everything we had planned for) they stopped making fun of me and started praising my planning skills!

:yay:

I feel your pain! My last two trips have been large groups (16 and 22) and my SiL decided to join us on the last one 2 WEEKS before we left! She and my brother are still not speaking to me (It's been almost a year) because I wouldn't cancel my adr's and add her on. I was able to book all of hers for the same time as ours, and they wound up eating with us at every meal anyway, but they're still mad.:confused3 Let us know what happened on the "magical" call at 2pm!

Here you go, milmore! Even if you don't drink, you might want to start now! ;)

We have friends coming during the second week of December. They really want to stay at GF, but haven't made any reservation yet. They also want to get the DDP, but haven't made any ADRs, either. These are people that claim to know what they are doing to! Although the only times they have been here were in the spring, so they really don't know what they are getting themselves in to.

We traveled in a group of 9 in April. I first mentioned ADRs slightly before the 180 mark, and every couple of weeks afterwards.

One group wanted to play everything by ear, while another group insisted on having nice sit down meals every night. :lmao:

I kept imagining a train wreck.

I secretly set ADRs for 9 people, that were continuously blown partly because my sister changed the park days on the way down in the car. Some ADRs were cancelled, but a few were just blown. (Please no flames)

The dining plan was considered too expensive from jump street, but between the money spent for food and the room, and the food bought off property they could have been on the dining plan.

When it was all said and done, they were so happy that they found the 192 restaurants, still saw no reason for making ADRs, and were convinced that I needed professional counseling for my food obsession.;)

I think I needed counseling for deciding to vacation with my sisters!

Trying to get ADRs for 5 is a nightmare!:scared1:

(We have 5 in our party... I feel your pain.);)

When you call, don't you give them the confirmation # or a phone # (I can't remember, I haven't called since April :thumbsup2 .) If she has either # the CM can pull up all of your ressies. I hope she doesn't cancel BEFORE she rebooks or that ressie will get snatched up in seconds.

I'm not sure I would let her call. I would say "deal with it" (politely).

I would politely remind her of your "happy dance" for getting the ADR's you wanted and then tell her "like it or lump it" but I'm not cancelling a thing! I made ADR's for 10 last Nov and happy to say everything went so smooth. My dad's 80th birthday. My parents luckily go with the flow and my DB and his family just need continuous reminding throughout the day of what time dinner is and where! Good luck and I hope that this does not ruin your trip.

Just to update everyone. She did call and are you all ready for this? Are we sitting down? She wasn't able to get anything she was thinking of. And yet she still says to me we'll they save tables for WDW resort guess so we can just go to the Rest. when we want and they'll get us in. This is a new policy to me. OMG why am I spending all this time on the phone trying to get all these ADR's if I can just walk up when I want.

Oh and I do believe the CM laughed at her when she asked to check on a breakfast ADR for CRT 35 days out.
Hope that gave you another laugh!
Seriously when are people going to get it?

I would just stick with the ADR's already made, and if she wants to try to make them once she's there let them. At least YOU have somewhere to eat:) . My DH's cousin and her party of 6 adults and 3 toddlers are going beginning of Sept, and because they made no ADR's because they said they're not on the dining plan. Hello, everyone else is at that time!!! So, I guess it's a lot of CS for them or offsite. Too bad.
