Ok we are headed to WDW in 37 days. It's Me, DH, DD (6), Cousin, and her Son (5).
So I made all our ADR's back in May. We went over everything and decided where they wanted to go and where we wanted to go. (Just a note they are going 9/21-9/26 and we are staying until 10/1). They came over for a visit (live 5 hours away) this past weekend and we went over everything again. Well she tells me she really doesn't want to go to WCC how about BOMA instead. Ok so I call and try and get an ADR. DH and I have never been to WCC and I needed to change this as well. Luckly I got a breakfast at Boma, were hoping for dinner but were happy w/ it. I also got a lunch at WCC for us later in the trip. So I'm thinking everything is good and we're all set. DCousin emails me this morning w/ advice from her sister. DON'T GO TO BOMA!!! DH & I stayed in AKL for 17 nights and ate @ Boma 4x's during our trip and LOVE it. So she says... ready for your laugh... let's change up some of our ADR's while we still have time to do it. We're far enough away we won't have any problems! She wants me to get LTT the night of MNSSHP, Ohana's for Breakfast, CM for dinner, and MM for the Fantasmic package. But the kicker is they all have NO room to play. They all have to be at a certain time on a certain day.
Please tell me someone feels my pain

This brings back memories when we travelled with relatives. I hope somewhere along the line you gave some special guidelines about the trip (Do's, Don'ts, free time, doing your own thing, ADR's join us or not, etc) since it also appears this is not the first time they heard about the ADR's.

THANK YOU I knew my fellow Disers would understand. I try and tell her I was on the phone for 45 min. yesterday morning trying to get Boma for her. But she seems to think if she calls @ 2 she'll have better LUCK. It's so funny how she thinks it's the time I call that's giving me the problem. She just doesn't get it.
I am letting her give it a try today but... Not giving her any of my ADR's # so she can't cancel my ADR's. I'm afraid this is what will happen.

Seriously don't people understand what a DISNEY ADDICT is? I've had this thing planned out for months and now there's a wrench thrown into it.
No I know why people go insane planning a vaction for others.

Yes you are correct. I planned everything and emailed it to her we made corrections and rearranged things. She is only going for 5 days and we are going for 12. So I'm trying to fit everything she wants to into the trip. Which has us hopping form one place to another. But whatever. I thought we were all good until she came over this weekend. She was vetoing several of the ADR's she'd already signed off on back in MAY.

The BIG problem I'm having is keeping it all from DH. If he finds out that we're trying to change things around he will be mad. So I think I'll have to keep what I have and if she wants anything different she can get it and I'll just downsize our ADR's.

I was so happy when I got all my ADRs in my planning, and can't even think of changing them.
Trying to add one or two: yes. Changing the ones I have: NO!

I am traveling in Jan with a group of 8 adults, and thankfully all of them have said WE TRUST YOU to plan to the trip..so I am not even asking them suggestions..is that mean?? It's a lot of work planning these trips, and I would freak out if they all started telling me where to make reservations...

Whatever you do - don't give her your conf. #'s she may try to change them then you will be eating at McDonald's up the road. Some people have no clue!

So I thought I'd call and just try and see what happens. Just as we all knew what was going to happen. LTT was completely booked solid so no luck there as well as CM. We could get into Ohana's on a different day but I already have ADR's for CP on that day and couldn't get in any other day so that's out for me. It frustrates me to think she's not happy w/ the ADR's when we talked about them months ago and we did the "HAPPY DANCE" when we got everything we wanted and the times we wanted.

Next she'll say she wants to make an ADR @ CRT for breakfast!

See, I tried going with my parents and did the planning...

I would seriously let her know that she wants to have a special, magical time - so give her the wdw dine number and tell her to call and make whatever adr's she wants = booking them with her name and phone number - and that way if she wants she can go to whatever place they can fit her in...

in the meantime you will be enjoying your hardwork as it has paid off for a stress free (cept for her) meal at CP etc...

but of course if you get there and her adrs arent what she wanted, she can thank you that you kept yours!!

(OK I just realized that sounded like I was endorsing keeping to adrs for the same night for lots of people - but I'm not, I was thinkng that she would be hit with reality and not make any adrs and be thankful that someone knew how to work the adr system 180 days in advance!!)

I understand! My DD (12) and I traveled to WDW last summer with her best friend and her mom. They had never been before. Thankfully, they left the planning to me. Unfortunately, they wanted to be with us constantly, but wanted to stop at EVERY gift shop, pin stand, etc., that we passed! The mom yelled at us because we wanted to walk ahead of them (while they were pin shopping) and get fast passes for the next ride! Lesson learned!

Just remember, you are paying a lot for your vacation (as your cousin is for her's). You both need to be happy. Arrange your vacation for YOU, and if she wants to tag along, fine. If not, let her make her own arrangements for her and her son. This may sound harsh, but I am a patient person, and I almost throttled my friend! Mantra: I must be happy! I must be happy! I must be happy!

Have fun! And let us know if she gets those CRT ressies!

Oh, I feel your pain. I have had many last minute change requests when we have included Gabby's FL family in our plans....most of the time, it's just not possible to make the changes.

Most recently, I had talked to Gabby about maybe coming home a little later in the day on our departure day so that we could do the F&W event with Cat Cora from the Food Network. She wanted to do it, but she wanted to get home too. So, we basically decided against it.....until Sunday night, Gabby was watching Iron Chef and asked me to call and book it. Of course, that one was long gone and booked solid.

I guess it's just hard for me because I am used to figuring out what I am going to eat at WDW 180 days in advance....or more. lol

This sounds like my June Trip...

At least in February, my fiance's family is trusting me to pick out the restaurants for all of us for the days they will be joining us. So we have Narcossee's, Le Cellier and Sci-Fi (lunch only there though) Yachtsman (rehearsal dinner) and V&A (well thats the wedding dinner)

I'm glad I could give some of you a well needed laugh. At this point it's all I can do as well. I am waiting for her to call me after her "Magical" 2pm call. To see what's she's done. I say if she wants to make other plans go for it. I have the ADR's I want already and I will of course will call and and change the 5 to 3. But of course I will post it here first just incase someone wants to grab it.
