Who loves the Cadillac Lounge?

I never hear anyone talk about this lounge and it's one of our favorite places to relax on the Wonder. We started out every night there with a glass of champagne, listening to the great piano players they had. (On our last cruise, it was Kenne at the piano, he was excellent). A nice place to celebrate or just be alone with your special someone, enjoying "Cheese And Grapes", or a glass of port at the end of the evening. A bit of pixie dust there - they were out of Iron Horse Cuvee that we ordered and he upgraded us to Taittinger at the same price and then gave us the rest of the bottle free. No wonder we like the place!

Anyone else discovered this place yet?

Last year on the Wonder we were in there every evening before dinner. We would feed the kids up top, then take them to the club, then go have our drink and alone time. Then we would go to our late seating.
This year on the Magic, we had early seating, so didn't really get a chance to go have a drink first. Oh well... there are still memories of the Cadillac Lounge on the Wonder!

i definitely would have spent time relaxing there, but i had to 'hang out' with my 18 year old (since there were no organized activities on the ship for her age group)......her favorite adult lounge was dueling pianos, followed by wavebands (or whatever it's called on the wonder).....
she had no interest in going to the cadillac lounge....maybe when we go this summer there will be other people her age (20) for her to spend time with....otherwise i'll have to be her buddy again ....translation...no time in the cadillac lounge for me...
too bad i can't take my nephew, who's the same age as she is....if not for the very expensive flight getting to the united states, i would do it...
maybe my son will hang out with her this time (he'll be 17....possibly too old for common ground, depending on the ages of the kids there)...

On the Magic, it's Session. We were there for a beautiful Disney wedding on cruise - very lovely and quiet!

During our August cruise, DH and I opted to go there one evening when our favorite pianist/entertainer Fidelio was filling in for the regular entertainer. Of course, we are Fidelio fans so anything the Piano Guy does is fabulous and we would always be in attendance so this was our Cozumel night and nothing could take us away from the evening with Fidelio at the piano.

It was worth it - although he is our Dueling Pianist extraordinaire, we really enjoyed the softer, melodic tunes he presented to us.
Everything was very romantic and just perfect with the exception of the very drunk, obnoxious stumpjumper who kept interrupting him as he played and just was annoying as heck to everyone around. But Fidelio was gracious and made sure that the evening went smoothly. Unlike me, the wild and crazy New Yorker who wanted to throw the guy overboard for interrupting the music!
(Where is Tony Soprano when you need him???)

FIDELIO FAN

(And someone who obviously I doesn't care for drunks!)

we had two VERY drunk couples in one of the dueling pianos performances....it was terribly embarrassing.....they heckled and made absolute nuisances of themselves.....the performers were very good about it and made some very clever wisecracks....but still it was less than pleasant....
it was the late show on the last night, and both couples kids lab beepers were going off, but neither couple left to go get their kids......my daughter wondered whether it wasn't dangerous for people that drunk to be taking care of little kids...
anyway....that was our ONLY experience with drunks on the ship....thank god....my family is very disturbed by drinking in general, and when it gets to that stage...well...nuf said...

Oh this could start a new thread altogether!!!!!! Yes, obnoxious drunks - lived with one for the first 8 years of my life - how wonderful it was to grow up with a drunk father. Thankfully, he departed and moved on with his life but the damage was done. AND the best part is that many years later, when my mother remarried, I got the best Dad ("Pop") in the whole world. So there was a blessing in all of it! Pop passed away nearly 5 year ago and for the 25 years he was in my life, I thank God every day!

It is totally embarassing for everyone one but to the child of the drunk (male or female) it's traumatic. Drunks don't think about anything or anyone but themselves - EVER. Take care of children, ohhh, yeah right...their offspring....uh huh - they can't even take care of themselves. (Ohhhh, I am on such a roll here and am going to stop before I get worse!) Big reason we stopped going to sporting events with our children - ohh the language and behavior that follows!

Yes, the entertainers are accustomed to drunks and Disney can't do much about their paying guests especially when they are adding to the profit with their addiction.

DH, DM and I have an occassional drink but to drink to excess -and become an annoying, irritating embarassment no way.

I just "shrimp myself" to excess!!!

But anyway, back to Sessions/Cadillac Lounge - don't let the fear of being around a drunk stop you, our experiences are not the norm.

My husband and I loved sitting by the huge porthole windows in Sessions and having a glass or two of wine. Very romantic and peaceful.

it's funny because before we cruised i remember someone posting a question about that....whether there were lots of drunks.....so i wondered as well....
in the end, those two couples were the only people i saw drunk on the ship....sure everyone was drinking a bit, but within limits...
in general, i found the people on the cruise to be extremely well mannered and nice....and we were on a fully packed 4th of july cruise......

actually, i was much more worried about what the smoke situation would be.....but in the end, we barely encountered any smoke on the ship....just in wavebands, but it was tolerable (though i would have much preferred smoke-free, but i can't have everything)...
