I think I found the recipe that is REALLY close to the real thing:

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/homemade-soft-pretzels-recipe/index.html

I halved the recipe (since there are only 2 of us at home) and I wished I had done the full one. It's that good... I haven't tried doing it in a stick form because I don't have a really wide spatula but it tastes so darn close to the pretzel bread at LC I can't help but post it.

BTW, I don't have pretzel salt either. I used kosher. It's ok tasting but I bet it's spectacular if I had real pretzel salt.

Oh, if you want to see the episode just search on youtube. The whole episode is divided into 2 posts on youtube (maybe it was too long or something).

Have fun trying! :hippie:

The pretzel bread is a favorite for our clan.
Those who get the cheese soup love dipping the bread in the soup.

The pretzel bread was awesome! I didn't care for the cheese soup (and I love soup) by itself. When I dipped the pretzel bread in it, my opinion of it changed.

I love the bread and the soup both separate and together!!!!!

Same here!!

We have a local restaurant that serves pretzel bread...it is NOT as good as LC but it is darn close...and much cheaper (seeing as how we don't need plane/park tickets to eat it ;) )
