Looking at booking a condo at Carriage Pointe Reunion Resort. Anyone have insights at ALL?

Several different friends of a friend have stayed there and loved it. We're staying there for the first time in Spring 2011. We rented through a private owner, and he's been great to work with. The drive to WDW is supposed to be very short, the pools are supposed to be very nice, and it's centrally located. We will not be going to the parks most days (heresy, I know...but staying onsite three nights before going to the condo) so having a comfortable place to stay was important to us.

As with all private owners, there are risks (ie we've already made a deposit, and will have to prepay the rest as it gets closer). We checked reviews, trusted our gut, and went with it. (We've done condo rentals elsewhere before, and always had a good experience.)

I'm a little surprised how infrequently it's mentioned on these boards, although I have heard that rentals have been discouraged to some extent by...the homeowner's association? (Someone/something.)

We stayed at Reunion 10/9-10/16/10 and LOVE LOVE LOVED it! We booked through all star vacation homes and I must say I may not stay onsite again...There were 4 adults and 3 kids ( 11,8,7) We had a three BR/3Bath and sooo much more room than regular hotel room. The pool area was awesome! Kids loved the lazy river and slide. I dont know the name of the area but we were in building N..located across the golf course from the pool area....Not alot of people around so we were never crowded at the pool area. The only downside was when you go to pool area, you cannot bring in any outside food or beverages and the prices are WAY too high. Dont get me wrong, I don't mind spending a reasonable amount on drinks but I think they are way overpriced....

Me too! I stayed at a friend's company's condo last winter and LOVED it! The resort is immaculate and gorgeous, as was the condo. The commute to WDW was nothing; it never took us longer than 10-15 minutes to get to a park. Having 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, a full kitchen, dining and living rooms was wonderful.

I enjoyed my short Reunion stay so much, I'm going back this Dec. thanks to a rental with a terrific price! :thumbsup2

We (Me, DH, DS 8, DS 10) have ressies for Reunion next week. :cool1:

Has anyone been there recently? Is the place holding up well? So excited for the stay!

And, for those of you that have stayed at both WH and Reunion, how much longer does it take to get to WDW from Reunion?

I haven't been personally, but a good friend was just there earlier this month - still fantastic, she reports! :thumbsup2 I did the drive to WDW in about 15 minutes.

Heading there myself next weekend:thumbsup2
