Awesome update and review of Captain's Grille!:thumbsup2

First off, my whole family and I love finding hidden Mickey's! It's one of the things we really look forward to when we're there! I love all those beachy paintings too! I'm sure we'd have spent quite some time looking at them.:goodvibes

The food looks very yummy there. Dessert looked amazing though, I love fondue! How sweet too that the waitress brought out something extra for Caitlin's b-day too.

And WOW WOW WOW on the movie news! How cool is that? George Clooney and Ryan Gosling?? Oh dear, I'd be swooing for sure. So cool that Caitlin gets to be another extra.:thumbsup2

Thank you :)

Isn't searching for the Hidden Mickey's fun? We've found it gets kind of addictive

We went to the Captain's Grille without any expectations and we were really happy with the experience. It can be rare to get really good food and really good service.

Thanks! I was so excited about it being a George Clooney movie and she was like "well he's handsome for an OLDER man" but when she found out Ryan Gosling was in it she was screaming "I'm going to see NOAH!":rotfl:

Thought I'd share a little real life update....as you know Caitlin's done some "extra work" on a few movies. (Scream 4 releases next month ;)) Well she is VERY excited that tomorrow she is working on a film starring and directed by one of the sexiest men alive! George Clooney :cool1: (be still my heart) She is even more excited about his co-star, none other than ex-Mousketeer (gotta add the Disney connection) Ryan Gosling :yay: Yes that lucky girl gets to spend the day checking out those very handsome gentlemen and gets paid for it! They don't realize she'd do it for free :rotfl: The film is titled "The Ides of March" and Clooney is running for president in the film. We'll let you know how it goes and if George is as handsome in person as he is in the movies :)

Okay, gotta admit, that's pretty darn cool. Congrats to Caitlin! :goodvibes

Thanks everyone!

Today was a lot of... waiting around  I waited in extras holding for 6 and a half hours before I actually got on the set :sad2:

Once I got on set though we were shooting a town hall debate scene. George Clooney's character was answering questions from the audience. Well guess who was in the front row :woohoo:

It was very cool seeing George Clooney he was hilarious! Also he was very good to all of the extras because three of the other stars Ryan Gosling, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Evan Rachel Wood weren't in this scene but were filming a scene next door so Geroge Clooney went and got each one of them so all of the extras could see them  It was very exciting and Ryan Gosling looks like your handsome all american man

It was a good time despite the waiting and I hope I get called back to work for them again!

Oooooh, insert girlish giggle right here! And maybe a squeal too! So cool!:thumbsup2

I haven't heard much about Captain's Grill. Good to hear you liked it! The food looks d-lish! That may go on my list...

Caitlin -

Your extra work sounds like a blast. I would love to see George Clooney in person. :thumbsup2

Thank you. We really enjoyed it and would recommend it. It's also a great place to keep in mind for a spur of the moment meal that you don't need an adr for :thumbsup2

Wooow! So cool that you saw George Clooney in person up close!!! That's another movie I have to watch to play "Hidden Caitlin"

I love all those HMs in the paintings! I bet it was so much fun to find them. The food at the Captain's Grille looks really yummy too!

Hey everyone! I figured I would do a bit of a live update since I haven't been on here and big things have been happening! I recently went to Lansing to talk to State Representatives and State Senators about issues concerning EMU. I had a lot of fun and decided I will be going to law school and then going into politics eventually. I am also going to Lansing again tomorrow to be a part of a rally for higher education so it will be a fun but cold day. I also registered for my first senior year ( ) of college on Monday. I will be taking 16 credit hours so I am anxious to see how that goes :sad2: Finally the year is winding down and our trip is only a month and a week or so away!!! With that we will most likely not be doing a PTR for our next trip not even a mini one :sad2: with finals and then Easter shortly after it would be a lot of work and not enough time especially since we still have two full days to talk about on here  but if you want to follow along with our trip you can PM myself or my mom and we can add you on Facebook :cutie: I will be posting pictures and videos from our trip on there to keep everyone updated  so with that I will finish up our day!

So after we were done with our great lunch we decided to head over to Epcot! Oh how I miss the walk through World Showcase!

disneysummer2010996.jpg

We met Prince Charming on our way but unfortunately none of us like the pictures we took with him

We headed to Canada to watch the movie because not only do I love the movie but I love the song and listened to it constantly on Disney radio before our trip!

While we were there we had a very gross encounter with a woman changing her baby right in public. The husband looked very embarrassed and everyone around her looked like they were going to be sick :headache: I am really sick of people changing their children in public I have heard of people running into this on other TRs and I really don't see why you can't walk to a bathroom :confused3 I understand the kid may be crying but really it's just gross and really unsanitary

After watching Martin Short get into what it means to be a Canadian we headed over to watch Captain EO for a second time! What can I say I just love this movie!

We then made our way over to the Land.

To kill time we went on Living with the Land. Here comes picture overload because I was really happy with how most of my pics turned out

Next we walked on to the Nemo ride!

disneysummer20101004.jpg

I just love the music as you are nearing the end of this ride!

disney20102615.jpg

I of course had to take the obligatory Bruce picture
disney20102618.jpg

disney20102617.jpg

We then headed over to MouseGears to find a first birthday present for my mom's cousin's baby.

disneysummer20101007.jpg

We ended up buying her a doll that looked like Sleeping Beauty but when you flipped her over she looked like Cinderella. We didn't take any pictures but when the baby received the doll she hugged it :cutie:

While my mom was off looking for a present my dad and I had some fun with hats

Dale wearing Dale
disney20102619.jpg

We decided to head over to Test Track but skipped it due to an hour wait. I know we have become line snobs

disneysummer20101011.jpg

We then took a bus to Port Orleans French Quarter because we were going to go to DTD and wanted to take the boat there.

My dad then realized that he didn't like this resort as much as he remembered and decided that he was now a "resort snob" (this accounts for a recent switch from Coronado Springs in May to Saratoga Springs)

While we were there they had their resort pin board out

disneysummer20101013.jpg

so I traded for a cutie Donald with an anchor to remind me of our trip to Beach Club :cutie:

disneysummer20101012.jpg

We then took the boat to DTD for our ADR at T Rex

disneysummer20101024.jpg

We took a lot of pictures of the decor

We had the buffalo wings and the nachos which I am sure have much more creative names than what I am typing but I am too lazy to look them up

disney20102636.jpg

disney20102635.jpg

The food and service was great but the place was really noisy :sad2:

My dad loved the punch drink they have and said it was his #2 favorite drink of the trip!

disney20102634.jpg

We then walked around DTD and my dad got a cigar

disneysummer20101025.jpg

and we headed back to the bus.

We ended the night with some time in the arcade and my dad smoking his cigar on the patio :cloud9:

Wow Caitlin, i'm super envious that you got to work with Ryan Gosling, he's always been one of my faves:goodvibes

How lucky are you guys to be able to stay at Saratoga, it looks like an amazing resort and I would love to hear about your next trip so will send you a pm later.

It looks like you guys had a great day and the food at t-rex looks really good!

He is also one of my favorites so I was very excited to see him! He is just so handsome :lovestruc

I am so excited to stay at Saratoga! I have heard good things on the DIS so I am anxious to see what's it's like for myself!

It was a fun day and the food was delicious!

T-Rex is alot of fun and a staple on our Downtown Disney Day.
The food is better than expected and the decor is unique.
But it does get a bit loud in there and it's not on the Dining Plan.

Nice pics of the Land - we love that ride to just sit back and relax on.
I think I might even take the kids to Garden Grill next trip to experience it "from above!" ;)

As for the future trip, please make sure to drop by the DIS as some of us don't do facebook...
