Who is the other ship?

I was just looking at the Port Canaveral cam a little while ago and noticed this huge white ship in port. I'm guessing it is a Carnival ship, but which one is it? It makes the Wonder look tiny! Is it just the camera angle, or is the Wonder really that much smaller?

That's the Mariner of the Seas (RCCL), a 138,000 GRT megaliner that sails from Port Canaveral on Sundays. It really is a huge ship, compared to the 83,500 GRT Disney Wonder.

The news about Labadee is another reason why I love Disney so much. Their island is private and a true paradise.

Based on events in Haiti I'd much rather have a day at sea.

Thanks for the information. I didn't realize that RCL had a ship that large leaving Port Canaveral. I can't wait to check all of this out for myself in June!

Not sure if that ship will still be sailing out of Port Canaveral come June. A large number of ships that are currently sailing in the Caribbean will move to Alaska sailings for the Summer and I think this might be one of them.

The Voayger class ships, the Mariner being one of them, cannot go through the panama canal, therefore they cannot be moved to Alaska. They sail out of the carribean all year long.

We just returned from the Mariner last weekend...and our itinerary included Labadee, which is RCCL's "private island" on Haiti. I believe we were the last to make it there before RCCL cancelled it the 13th. Anyway, it didn't hold a candle to Castaway Cay. It was nice, but nowhere near as nice as C.C. and the bar-b-que at Labadee was not very good at all. Just another area Disney excels at as far as we were concerned!
There was a little straw market in Labadee, and it was a serious pain to try and look at the items because they were consitently haggling and fighting one another for our attention to sell us stuff. I realize Haitians are VERY poor and that is why there is an uprising...but you don't deal with this at C.C. and really shouldn't have to when you've paid big money for a vacation.
